Who We Are

Ohio DEBH, formerly known as Ohio CCBD, as a local unit of the National CEC Division of Emotional and Behavioral Health, is committed to students who are identified as having emotional and behavioral disorders and those whose behavior puts them at risk for failure in school, home, and/or community. Ohio DEBH, is dedicated to supporting the professional development and enhancing the expertise of those who work on behalf of children with challenging behavior and their families.

Winter Virtual Talk

January 20th, we welcome Dr. William Hunter on Zoom to share with us Building On My Block: Developing Engaging Culturally Sustaining K-12 Community Classrooms.

Dr. William Hunter is a Professor of Special Education at the University of Memphis. Dr. Hunter’s background includes working as a special education teacher in urban schools located within the Greater Cincinnati area for 12 years and as a special education administrator for 2 years. He has authored and co-authored over 45 publications and 100 international, national, regional, and local presentations centered on the topics of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, and Classroom Level Positive Behavior Intervention Supports. Dr. Hunter is on the editorial/lead author team of the book where Dr. Taylor is also an author: The Mixtape Volume 1: Culturally Sustaining Practices within MTSS featuring the Everlasting Mission of Student Engagement.

Join us as we read Inclusive Instruction for Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders: Pulling Back the Curtain, John McKenna, et.al.editor, Chapter 4 and Chapter 11. Each Chapter is totally self-contained in this book, and you can join us with any chapter. The book overviews strategies based on recent research for working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders. This book is available through Amazon and can also be ordered through the Inter Library Loan system at your local Ohio library (while your neighborhood library will likely not have the book, they can usually order it from an academic university library.).
