Newsletter Week 6 Term 2
Tokoroa Intermediate School 8th June 2021
Pink Shirt Day
On May 21, we did Pink Shirt Day as a part of anti-bullying week to symbolise that we don’t care that some people discriminate against males wearing pink as ‘it's a girl colour’.
Being kind is not hard because it is free, it doesn’t cost anything.
Remembering these meanings will probably give you a concept:
T Is it thoughtful?
H Is it helpful?
I Is it inspiring?
N Is it necessary?
K Is it kind?
During Pink Shirt Day we did cool activities like designing a pink shirt for a colouring contest, adding pink leaves with kind thoughts on them to the kindness tree.
Here are some cool photos of people that had their pink shirts on.

Guest Speaker
The Manaaki school leaders asked questions on behalf of students. One of the things I enjoyed about the guest speaker was how he screwed up his script and explained what a cool cop is, with him blasting to Bruno Mars in his imaginary car.
Career Expo
The students went around different stalls to inform themselves about different professions and studies by asking questions and engaging in a variety of activities.
There were many interesting stalls which ranged form chartered accountant to diving. We travelled there by bus in houses.
Tautoko Groups
We have Tautoko groups in our school. The Pathfinder programme is run by Mr Merrilees-Clark and the Mau Rakau group by Matua Cappy. We went to Mr Merrilees-Clark's one and asked the boys in the group some questions.
