The Manning Weekly Update

January 7, 2022

Manning Community,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing break. For us parents that have 8th graders, it is that time of year where we think about the transition to high school and that next big step for our kids. With Jeffco Enroll opening up this upcoming Monday, it is more real than ever that high school is coming soon, and probably quicker than we want it too.

I spoke to our 8th grade class during lunch on Wednesday, reminding them that they have a huge responsibility the next five months to "finish strong" and continue to model leadership behaviors for our 6th and 7th grade students. I encouraged them to work hard the next five months and finish the preparation we began with them two years ago, so they can enter high school confident, motivated, and most importantly, excited about this next big step in their lives. In the coming weeks, several surrounding high schools will be visiting Manning to talk with students about their programs, and next steps for registration. All 8th grade parents/families should make sure to fill out the Google form below if you would like your child to attend one of these informational sessions during access time:

On another note, we will be holding our parent partnership meeting this Tuesday @ 5:00 p.m. During this meeting, we will present our current MAP growth data and our steps towards meeting our unified improvement plan goals. We will also be going over student based budgeting and beginning the conversation regarding budget considerations for the 2022-2023 school year. This meeting will be held in-person (in our LMC) and over Zoom. We hope you can make the meeting! The Zoom link for the meeting is below:

January Achievement

Friday, January 21st will be the first and only Achievement for January. Notices will be distributed to students on Tuesday, January 18th. Achievement is held from 2:15- 3:25 on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month.

Achievement time is Manning’s way to keep students aware of their grades and hopefully help them repair grades if a student falls into an “F” in any one class.

Attention 6th and 7th Grade Families - Enrollment for Manning Next Year

Good afternoon Manning Community,

Beginning on Monday, January 10th, ALL current Manning Families will need to log into EnrollJeffco.org to confirm their enrollment for next year. It is very important that we know who plans on attending Manning during the 2022-2023 school year for budgetary and scheduling purposes. Therefore, it is mandatory that all families complete this process by Friday, January 28th.

If you are returning to Manning next year, this is the only task you will need to complete until August. If you are not returning to Manning, enrollment will need to take place with your new school of choice within Enroll Jeffco.

All families can log into EnrollJeffco.org, with the same username and password that you used with Jeffco Connect. If you are unsure of your username/password, please utilize the Personal Account Manager to manage your account information.

If you have any technical issues, please reach out to the after-hours support line at 303-982-2372.

Thank you for your understanding and patience these past few weeks as we worked through the technical challenges that delayed the enrollment process.

Sincerely,

Jade Zentz

Masks Masks Masks Masks

We are running extremely low on disposable masks and would appreciate it if your student brought one or two from home for themselves. We recommend to students that they keep a backup mask in their backpack or locker just in case one breaks or is lost at recess.

It's finally winter in Colorado! With the flu and COVID season upon us and colder weather, please remind your students to bring winter attire -- coats, hats, and gloves -- for recess and or waiting outside before or after school. Expect that students will go outside for recess unless there is severe inclement weather. When in doubt, it is best to come prepared.
