What was the change ?

Reformation was a change in Catholic church. Reformation is a movement for religious reform. The priests started to give INDULGENCES for money. Indulgences is giving forgiveness that released a person from punishment because of their sin. Martin Luther started a written Protest called 95 theses against indulgences and posted them on the front door of the church.Luther believed that people could only win salvation by faith in god's gift of forgiveness.

How did the change impact the society at time ?

Luther's word spread throughout Germany. Since Luther was going against the church, he was excommunicated by the Pope. So, Luther and his followers built a new church called Lutheran Church. Princes signed a protest against the Pope called Protestants. During that time John Calvin wrote a book that taught people are sinful by nature and also taught PREDESTINATION - the idea that god has already chosen who will be saved. Religion based on calvin's teaching was known as Calvinism.

How is that change evidenced in today's modern society ?

Today in the society most of us do not use Indulgences because we believe that we are capable of doing things on our own and do not need to cheat but others use indulgences. Today in society about all of us have changed. but if we stay together we can get indulgences out of the society.
