WINTER WISHES PROGRAM:
A number of our families received the sign up forms for our Winter Wishes program. This program matches sponsors with families that are requesting some assistance with gifts and clothing over the winter holiday season. If you have a family that requests assistance, please have them come to the office to complete the forms. If you have a family hoping to sponsor a family, the Wish Lists will be available for selection on Wednesday, November 29th. Happy Holidays!!
CLASS PHOTOS:
Class Photo ORDER envelopes are in your teacher boxes. Please collect any returned orders in your teacher envelope. All orders due to office on Wed. December 6. Class photos orders will be received before Winter Break!
LOST AND FOUND:
All lost & found items will be donated prior to the Winter Holiday. Please encourage your students/parents to check for missing items.
GRADES:
Thank you for entering your grades weekly - all you have to do is enter comments when the posting window opens December 8th and closes on the 15th. Report cards go home when we return from the break.
Before you post, please make sure you have AT LEAST seven grades for Math and LA; four grades for Social Studies and Science.
Things to remember:
- You no longer have to finalize, only POST or POST to all.
- If a student is failing, be sure that the student has had the opportunity to make up any work that they have failed. This is board policy (as is the number of grades) .
- Progress reports should have been sent by now.
504 Students:
Make sure that he/she has had the appropriate accommodations on all work (dyslexic students need to have work read to them).
Gifted and Talented Students:
Parents should receive a copy of your differentiation log in their report card at the end of this 9 weeks for the semester. Please turn in a copy for their CUM folder to Pat.
If your averages are in RED after posting that means that the average in the grade book does not match the average on the Report Card tab. For K, 1, 2 - you need to repost your grade book. For 3,4,5 - you have not used single weight alpha.
Look at your assignments and make sure your scale value is always 100 for all grade levels. Check that your Max value is 4 for K-2nd and 100 for 3-5th.
Categories must have a weight otherwise when you add assignment grades, an average won't be calculated. If the average shows as NG, you have an incorrect category weight.
Did you know that K-2 can also enter assignment grades of 1.5, 3.4, etc.? Be sure to only do one place after the decimal. Unfortunately, this does not work with special areas or citizenship.
5TH GRADE MUSICAL: THE BALLAD OF HOWDY TEXAS
Our performance day for the 5th grade musical is Thursday, December 7th! Here is what I'm thinking as far scheduling goes that day, please let me know if you see any problems:
7:55-8:40 - 5th graders in choir go to music rooms, others go to art & PE (if you are supposed to have music for specials that day, please split the remainder of your class between art & PE).
8:45 - 1st grade, 3rd grade, and remaining 5th graders start coming to cafeteria (teachers please remain in cafeteria with your classes for management).
1st show 9:00-10:00ish
10:30-11:15 1st grade specials as normal
11:20-12:05 3rd grade specials as normal
12:40-1:25 5th graders in choir come to music rooms, 2nd grade classes please go to art & PE (if it is a music day for you, please split your class between art & PE)
2nd show 1:30-2:30ish Kinder, 2nd, and 4th grade start coming to cafeteria around 1:15. 4th grade teachers have their planning from 1:25-2:10, so Kinder and 2nd grade teachers should plan on being in the cafeteria to manage.
2:30pm your music teachers fall down out of exhaustion and get ready for our evening show.
