Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of September 18th, 2022
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Greetings Davenport Families!
“This is one of the most important themes I want you to take from me: Stay as positive and upbeat as you can possibly be. I’ll say it many times, if you can dream it, you can be it.” – John Calipari
Whether big or small, old or young, there is much that we can achieve in life. We are into the 3rd week of school with many more weeks and months to go. Make every day count! Davenport staff and students have been resilient with all the we have endured throughout the course of the pandemic, and still WE RISE. It is only up from here! We are thankful to our staff for being a beacon of light to our students, guiding them, and showing them that they truly care for them and their families.
On September 19th, we had our first Back to School Night since 2019, and it was a great time! The environment was vibrant, parents were happy, the students in attendance were proud to show off their classes to their families, and our teachers took pride in sharing what Davenport and EHT district has to offer. If you were not able to make it to the BTSN, you can reach out to your teachers to schedule a meeting as needed. We will also have conferences later in the school year.
Parents thank you for coming out, showing your support, and partnering with us as we Embrace, Engage, and Educate the students of Davenport!
Don't forget to come out to the EHTPRIDE Fest. We can't wait to see you out there!
Have a great weekend!
Parents please be reminded of the following:
- New dismissal time: As you may be aware the dismissal time for students is 15 minutes later. Students are dismissed from the building at 3:45pm to board the school bus. The buses are scheduled to leave the bus lot at 3:50pm. Bus pick times will be later than the previous year due to the new time change.
- School is closed for Rosh Hashana on Monday, September 26th.
