Lowell Memo: Issue #5
September 18, 2015
Published by Lowell School & the Lowell PTA
Please note there is no school on Friday, September 25 due to Teacher Institute Day!
Hello Lowell families!!
Last week we kicked off our Fall Fundraiser. This year we are doing something new called Lowellpalooza: Laps for Lowell. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the PTA! This new event will feature four different “laps” for the students to complete. At the end of the event, each student competing will receive a certificate documenting the number of laps completed.
The event will be held during the students’ PE time on Thursday, September 24th. They will be completing the event in their PE squads. If you’d like to help us with this event we will need parent volunteers on the day of the event. We will need people for the AM class times as well as PM class times. If you are interested in helping, please email us at lapsforlowell@gmail.com and let us know your preferred time.
We will also be holding a raffle with fun prizes from the Chicago Bulls, Wilson Sporting Goods, Prairie Path Books, the Wheaton Park District, the YMCA, Wheaton College, WNHS Falconettes, Moore Toys and Gadgets, Rockin’ Jump, Deforest Dance and much, much more! Raffle tickets will be earned based upon the donations that the students bring in; however, each student will receive one raffle ticket just for participating. In addition, every student who collects $300 or more in donations will win a Kindle Fire!
Thank you so much for all the donations that have come in already! We are off to a great start! We appreciate your generous support of this event, which will allow us to keep the number of fundraisers low again this year.
Gratefully,
Your Lowell PTA - Laps for Lowell Chairpersons
