Pinehill School News - 29 October
29 October 2021 - Week 2, Term 4
Message from our Principal
Kia ora tatou,
Culture Week Thank you!
Last Week was Culture Week at Pinehill School. Our students and families are from a multitude of over 22 different ethnicities. Culture Week provides us with an opportunity to discover where we are all from, a little about others’ culture, to learn about each other and to celebrate the rich diversity at Pinehill School.
‘Once you understand and appreciate other people’s cultural backgrounds, then you can also connect with them more.’
Culture Week took place online this time round! A big THANK YOU to the many parents and whanau members who have given their time to talk to class groups about their culture on Zoom or Seesaw as well as supporting your children in the Culture Week Learning activities. One of many highlights was joining the Year 3 team in their culture parade on zoom. The children looked amazing in their cultural dress and the food that had been prepared at home for children to talk about from home with their classmates looked delicious! Thank you to everyone for your support with making Culture Week a success in distance learning style!
Welcome to our school
It was wonderful to see the school log in to our full school zoom assembly on Wednesday morning. This week we welcome two new students to our school. Welcome Ewan Liu and Emily Shen who have both started in room 21, our New Entrants room.
Full School Assembly - Monday 1st November at 9:00am
To begin our week next week we would like to start the week together as a school with a full school assembly on Monday 1st November at 9:00am. Families are welcome to join us. Please ensure your child’s microphone is on mute so there is no background noise while assembly is running. Details for the zoom assembly are below.
Carla Veldman is inviting you to a scheduled Full School AssemblyZoom meeting.

Finally, it is really important we keep a learning routine active during Term 4. Please keep communicating with us the ways we can support your children with this. If your child/ren has completed all the hard pack learning sheets and requires another pack to be delivered please let your child’s teacher know so we can arrange this. If your child/children require technical or learning support online with distance learning, please let your child’s teacher know so we can arrange this. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging and unprecedented time. As always, please let us know if there is anything you need to support you and your tamariki during this time.
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini
Success is not the work of one but the work of many.
Ngā mihi nui,
