Diploma Name Verification - Due by Feb 28th
In order to ensure that each graduates legal name is correctly printed on their diploma, we are asking each of our seniors to complete a Diploma Name Verification Form. One the form is completed, we will match with our current PowerSchool record as a double check. Any discrepancies will then be investigated and rectified. Please note that the diploma is a legal document and must reflect the students current legal name. We do understand that the name to be read on stage may, in a few circumstances, be different than what is printed on the diploma.

If you would like to be considered for this honor, please see the Commencement Speaker Criteria Packet found in the OHS main office for speech criteria and strictly enforced deadlines.

Naviance College and Career Research Resource
Naviance is considered the “Hub” of all things related to College Applications. Simply put...everything goes through Naviance. Naviance simplifies the process the counseling department and teachers follow to send school reports, midyear reports, and recommendation letters to Common Application colleges.
As an example, Naviance should be used to assist in completing college applications - including those using the Common App process - Oxford High School will be using Naviance Student to request transcripts and letters of recommendation.
- If you plan to use Common App - you must link it to Naviance first.
- If you do not plan to use Common App to apply to colleges, then you do not need to link the two.
- Below are the directions on how to link your Common App account to your Naviance Student account. In order to be able to use the requesting feature, you must first link your accounts using the directions below.
You can help make sure your forms and recommendations are delivered promptly by entering your Common App username on Naviance Student.
Follow the steps below to match your Common App and Naviance Student accounts:
1. On Common App:
Register for an account (use your oxford email or remember the one you use!)
o Click the Common App tab and enter your high school information in the Education section
o Click the My Colleges tab and add at least one college
o Click Recommenders and FERPA
o Sign the FERPA Release Authorization
2. On Naviance Student: https://student.naviance.com/oxfordhigh
o Click the Colleges tab
o Click Colleges I'm Applying To
o Click Match Accounts in pink banner
o Enter your Common App email address and Date of Birth into the text boxes on the Common App Account Matching screen
o Click Match Accounts
Students, remember to Sign your FERPA Release Authorization when matching your Common App and Naviance before requesting transcripts through Naviance. Counselors will not be able to not be able to process your request unless you sign your FERPA release.
Once the above steps are completed you are ready to request your initial transcripts and letters of recommendations!
Scholarship Search and Tracking Using Naviance - Including Local Scholarships - Deadline are Approaching!
As Seniors continue apply to and subsequently receive their college acceptance letters, hear back from trade schools, or commit to one of the branches of our military, we want to make sure they know that Naviance Student has a Scholarship Search and Tracking feature that is available for their use. Not only can students search for local, national, and college specific scholarships, they can also use the tool to identify the scholarships they are interested in, track the scholarships they apply for, and ultimately, document the ones they receive!
Attached below is a small Scholarship Quick Guide for your use.
Please note, the OHS counseling office manually adds local scholarships, as they are received, to Naviance and will continue to add them as we get notified by community organizations. Local scholarships are starting to be posted and will continue to be for the next few months. Beginning in late December, it is in a Senior's best interest to check weekly for the new ones that pop-up by frequently logging on to the OHS Naviance site. These scholarship opportunities can also be found by visiting the counseling office and checking the OHS Counseling Scholarship web page.
If you have any questions or you need help with anything please see your counselor or Mrs. Shenfeld in the counseling office.

To complete and submit your FAFSA application, be sure to apply for a FAFSA ID (student and parent will need to create a username and password) on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid website.
