CSD has a new messaging platform
How does the new communications system differ from the past system? On the backend, this new system is more efficient as well as more robust and it provides a faster way for CSD to communicate with our community. This new system also allows for text messaging, more integrated teacher messaging, a CSD app, and many more capabilities which will be implemented over time.
What does CSD need from parents? CSD just needs you to keep your information updated and to make sure you do not opt out of any messages. Text messages from the District and schools will originate from the number 606-80. You can add this number to your address book as City Schools of Decatur or your school name to ensure you receive these messages. Please be aware, that if you do opt out of receiving these texts from either the district or your child’s school by texting STOP back to this number, you will no longer receive any future text messages from the district or your child’s school. Emergency text messages will come from 549-68.
Has your contact information changed?
Update your information in the Parent Portal (Infinite Campus.)
The contact information in the parent portal is used by the district and by your child’s school to contact you in case of an emergency, inclement weather, or to relay any other urgent news. In addition, this year CSD is rolling out a new messaging system which will utilize the contact information in the Parent Portal. In the Parent Portal, you can update your phone numbers and email address, and choose your contact preferences.
Please note: address changes must be made in person at the Wilson School Support Center, 125 Electric Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030, or in person at your child’s school.
For detailed information on how to log into Infinite campus and update your contact information, visit csdecatur.net/parentportal and scroll to the link near the bottom of that page. If you are having any Infinite Campus log in issues, please contact your school’s administrative assistant.

CLIP Survey- We want to hear from you!
The Comprehensive Local Education Agency Implementation Plan (CLIP) SURVEY
CLIP is a comprehensive district plan based upon multiple data sources regarding district goals for the year and how resources will be coordinated to meet the identified needs of the district. This plan is submitted each year to the GaDOE for any Georgia school district receiving federal funds.
The CLIP is required under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as reauthorized under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) for all districts in the state receiving ANY federal funds. This includes: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) which is connected to Special Education, Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, Title V, and Title IX.
An additional goal of this survey is to assist the district in determining its plan to improve the academic and discipline outcomes for all CSD students with the specific goal of advancing racial equity.
We would like your input on the following four documents that comprise the 2019-2020 CSD CLIP. The survey closes at noon on Friday, August 9, 2019. Click here to take this survey or visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSDCLIPSurvey.
