Malta Avenue Calendar
Wednesday, November 2nd: School Photo Retakes
Thursday, November 10th: Emergency Release Day (students are released 15 minutes early from school)

Halloween at Malta Avenue
On Monday, October 31st, students enjoyed Halloween festivities at Malta Avenue. Each grade level organized and planned Halloween activities. We also held a Halloween parade for students in grades K-2. Fun was had by all!
Schoolwide Meeting
On Thursday, October 27th, we held our first in-person schoolwide meeting in over two years. Mrs. DeGregorio’s fourth grade class did a wonderful job planning and leading our first meeting. During schoolwide meetings, we recognize our character education award winners for the month and introduce our character education word for the next month.

Our character education word for November is Responsibility - do what you are supposed to do- plan ahead. Do your best - show self-control. Think before you act - be accountable - set a good example.

What I love Most About Malta Avenue: I love how everyone at Malta Avenue has welcomed me with open arms! I was a little nervous switching schools but after meeting some of the staff, I am very excited to get to work and get to know everyone!
I Became An Educator Because: I have always had a passion for children and learning so why not combine the two to make it my dream job! I also have a younger brother who is on the spectrum and watching his struggles throughout school made me want to work with students just like him. I want to make a difference in the lives of special education students in the same way that so many teachers have done for him!

I Became An Educator Because: I chose to work in a school setting to be able to provide practical support to students in their daily environment. I am also passionate about educational equity and am happy to provide extra support to students who need it to help close that gap.
PTA Update
Our incredible PTA has created age appropriate indoor recess carts. Our students will be able to access the carts when the weather prohibits the students from going outside. We continue to be grateful to our incredible PTA!
