  • Current 6th Grade Families: Reminder from San Dieguito Union HSD (SDUHSD)

Dear Families,

We are moving towards our 5 day per week expansion! This week we were grateful to hear case rates, hospitalizations, and ICU needs have continued to decrease. Similar to community trends, the positive cases in the district have decreased as well. All of these indicators are supporting the shift to Phase 3. Campuses are being readied! We see desks being delivered, new teachers joining us and adjustments being made to schedules. We know we all recognize the importance of getting our students back to our school campuses five days per week for academic and social and emotional needs. We are working to adjust our timeline for Phase 3 away from requiring the red tier and expect to provide a final date for our 5 days per week return to all families early next week. This work includes reconvening our reopening committees which includes parents and staff to continue to receive input from across the district and community throughout this process. Thank you for your patience as we work toward full return.

Last Friday, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) published additional school guidance. The CDC guidance consists of non-mandatory recommendations. It is important to note that it does not supersede existing state or local guidance. We are bound by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Consolidated Framework for School Reopening. Please note that the mitigation strategies outlined in the CDC guidance mirror CDPH in many ways and certainly align to our current procedures and plans.

Last week, an update was provided to the Board of Education on Farm Lab. It continues to provide healthy produce to all 9 sites and the community while supporting teachers with virtual lessons. Here is a link to the slides shared.

Thank you for remaining steadfast on our protocols of daily screenings, mask wearing, distancing and hand washing. We want our students, families and staff to remain healthy this spring!

Current 6th Grade Families: Middle School Registration Reminder from San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD)

Recently, the San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) sent an email to families of current EUSD 6th graders to share information about the opening of enrollment in their district for 2021-22. They will be sending an all-call reminder message as well, but please check your spam email for the enrollment information. The letter is posted to the SDUHSD website on the Middle School Enrollment page and the Enrollment Letter is available directly at this link.
