GOODBYE TO ANNETTE HYMEL
Annette has made an enormous contribution to Pleasant Union not only in the area of technology but as an instructional leader. For those who are new to our staff Annette joined Pleasant Union 13 years ago. Annette and the technology committee were accepted into technology training program at the Teacher Academy hosted at Western Carolina University. This served as a starting point for technology implementation at PUE. Following the Teacher Academy training our technology integration grew to adding SMART Boards, Doc Cams, Classroom Projector/Sound systems, iPods, iPads, Mac Books, PC Laptops for each of our staff and recently to the use of Chromebooks. We have expanded to web-based learning with numerous on-line reading programs, Nearpod, Dreambox, Seesaw, Google Suite, etc. Pleasant Union became and continues to be a instructional technology leader not only in Wake County but North Carolina. Annette has been key to our getting to where we are today. She has been an integral part to our staff professional development over the years and has been a leader in making sure all of the hardware, software and on-line programs functioned properly each day so that we all could focus on instructing and administering. Her videography contributions have run from getting WPAW to where it is today, training/teaching students, to video taping and in many cases editing talent shows, music programs, guests to the school, and yes, helping many of our staff with videos for their National Boards.
With all that being said we thank her for her many contributions to making Pleasant Union a better place for children and staff and most importantly for being a friend to us all. We wish her the very best in her transition to the new role and hope that she can come back to visit our school.

We wish each of them the very best and thank them for their contribution to our students and school.
