Immersion Education – Teaching academic content in another language

Hello Fronteras Families!

Congratulations to our top Geo Bee winners: Kaleb Stamoolis earned 1st place, Brayden Kringle earned 2nd place, and Timothy Bridgman earned 3rd. We are super proud of all who participated!

We had an exciting competitive jump rope demonstration this afternoon. Michael Cook, the President of MatSu HiFlyers, brought jumpers from the Fairbanks DEMO team to perform for our student body. The gym was filled with awesome tricks and cheering! Such incredible talent! Check out the flyer in this newsletter for TOMORROW’S jump rope clinic at Cottonwood Creek Elementary!

Thank you to all who chaperoned our Beauty and the Beast field trip on Thursday! We received excellent feedback about our students’ behavior, and the kiddos were all abuzz about the parts they enjoyed the most.

PLEASE NOTE: Fronteras Student-Led Conferences are February 18th. February 17th will be our PD Day, so Fronteras students have a 3 day weekend to enjoy! Grades 1, 2/3, 4/5, and Art will hold conferences in their classrooms. ALL other conferences will be in the gym. Conferences are 7:30-2:30pm.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Most Sincerely,

Mrs. Hutchins

Saturday of Science!

Dear Parents,

Thank you to those who volunteered their time to help with this years Saturday of Science. Unfortunately we did not get enough volunteers to make this years event happen. As we consider the future of this event we will be sitting down to discuss different options. Thank you for supporting our school and the students as we learn together.

P.E. News!

Healthy Futures is back for the spring season! Please collect a new log for February in the gym, the front office or at https://healthyfuturesak.org/the-challenge/elementary-schools/

Feel free to get multiple sheets to have on hand for next month too. One helpful idea is to hang on the fridge for kids to record or color in healthy habits days. Recording your healthy choices daily helps create ownership, accountability and establish great habits at any age.
