Robert Hunter Report
Sept. 27, 2020
Sept. 27, 2020
Dear Robert Hunter families,
We hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall weather!
This week, we had our first virtual assembly and introduced this year’s theme of mindfulness. Some of our 4th Grade service corp leaders in Ms. Ashey’s class helped to demonstrate a mindful breathing activity. We also celebrated September birthdays! It is important that our students continue to feel connected as a school community!
We will be sharing more information regarding our school’s hybrid schedule this coming week. You will be getting specific schedules from your child’s teacher to ensure you understand what each week entails.
Please note there have been some recent cohort changes, so please do not refer to Seesaw for cohort groupings. We certainly understand that everyone is eager for this information in order to plan. Cohort groupings will be made visible on Parent Portal early this week. We will alert families when this information is available.
We understand that there is so much information to process right now. We also know how difficult a time this is as families are planning for work and childcare while changes continue to occur. Please know that these changes come from the district’s desire to get kids in school as soon as possible! We will work together to make sure our families have a clear understanding of the coming changes.
Additional information regarding new arrival and dismissal procedures will be shared soon.
We know that families may have many questions about this transition. We will be holding parent Zoom sessions this week to discuss the schedule and answer questions.
Thank you four your ongoing patience and support.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Mrs. Glaab and Mrs. Braynor

Preparing for in-person instruction
Please ensure you are familiar with Genesis and can get into your Parent Portal account. We will be using Genesis for our DAILY Health Screener. Please remember, this is necessary for all families to complete for their child prior to then entering the building.
We will be running a Screener Test next week. This is through Genesis. So once again, ensure that your Parent portal account is working properly.
Children will be required to wear masks when they are within the building. The children will only take masks off when they are eating lunch or outside, socially distanced 6 feet apart. Please begin to provide your child the opportunity to wear a mask and build their mask stamina.
Clarification - Hybrid Schedule dates
Per Dr. McGann’s letter, starting on Oct. 5 (pending Board approval), all district elementary students (virtual and hybrid) will be split into two cohorts - Cohort A and Cohort B. This means that each class will be split into two smaller sections.
Monday, October 5th and Tuesday, October 6th
Our Hybrid Kindergarten and Grade 1 students who are in Cohort A will return to school. Kindergarten and Grade 1 students in Cohort A, who are virtual learners, will meet with their homeroom teacher virtually.
Meanwhile, Hybrid Kindergarten and Grade 1 students who are in Cohort B will be doing all virtual instruction - some with their homeroom teacher and some with a support teacher.
Grade 2-4 students will be following this same Cohort A and B schedule but all virtually. No students will be in the building.
Wednesday, Oct. 7th
All students will follow the A/B Cohort schedule. Cohort A- will be instructed by their homeroom teacher, virtually. Cohort B students will continue to be instructed by RH support teachers and their homeroom teacher, virtually. No students will be in the building on Wednesday so it may be deep cleaned.
Thursday Oct. 8th and 9th
Our Hybrid Kindergarten and Grade 1 students who are in Cohort B will return to school. Kindergarten and Grade 1 students in Cohort B, who are virtual learners, will meet with their homeroom teacher virtually.
Meanwhile, Hybrid Kindergarten and Grade 1 students who are in Cohort A will be doing all virtual instruction - some with their homeroom teacher and some with a support teacher.
Grade 2-4 students will be following the same Cohort A and B schedule all virtually.
We understand there is a lot of movement the week of October 5th! Starting, Oct. 12th, all elementary students will begin alternating A/B weeks with Cohort A Hybrid students in the building for the entire week. Cohort B hybrid students will return to the building the week of Oct. 19th.
Grades K, 1 and 2 will have another supply pick-up time.
Tuesday Sept. 29th - Grade 1 from 2-3 PM
Wednesday Sept. 30th - Grade 2 from 2-3 PM
Thursday Oct. 1st - Kindergarten from 2-3 PM
Should a family need an alternate day/ time to pick up materials, please reach out to Robyn Bennet in our main office so she may coordinate a convenient time. email@example.com
If your child will be attending school in-person, please complete the following survey that was sent out Friday evening: https://forms.gle/v1r6o3N1VC6c1BHx5
In planning arrival and dismissal procedures, it will be helpful to know how many students will be bus and car riders.
If a student/parent is having a technology issue related to a District-issued device, please contact the district’s technology help hotline:
Please see student and family technology tutorials here: Student and Parent Tutorials
Please note that there are multiple tabs on this document with resources and tutorial videos for navigating the different technology tools being used this year.
