Go Noodle Flow - Use the link for great mindfulness exercises. This was recommended by a school counselor.
Headspace - Check the link for meditation exercises and other practices to help when you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed.Insight Timer - Check the link for meditation exercises and guided meditations to use with students.
National Institute of Mental Health Resource Center - A link for a variety of resources. This is the official government site that has information on a wide variety of resources, including how to find a mental health provider.
Local Resources
Mercer County Crisis Center: If you or a family member is in an abusive situation, call the crisis line at (309)582-7233 or use this link to see the services they offer.
NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley: If you or a family member is struggling with mental illness, please call the helpline at 1-800-950-6264. Their website also has helpful videos and information for both people struggling with a mental illness and educational supports for their loved ones.
Call4Calm- The Illinois Department of Human Services has launched a support line called Call4Calm that is reachable via text. Individuals who want to speak with a mental health professional can text the word “TALK” or “HABLAR” (for Spanish speakers) to 552-020. Within 24 hours, that individual will receive a call from a mental health professional employed by a local community health center. People can also text other terms, like “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” to the same number to receive information on how to navigate and access supports and services. Call4Calm is free, and individuals who use it can remain anonymous.
