Master Facility Update

Sycamore Junior High

Finishing touches are happening in the academic spaces inside the new Sycamore Junior High. Construction crews continue to work on the brick veneer on the exterior of the building. The new school is still on schedule to be completed for the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.


Due to construction on the junior high property, the Transportation Department was temporarily relocated this school year. The new Transportation Department property off Grooms Road is taking shape. We look forward to full completion in July 2023.

Crews continue to make progress on the new administrative offices and entrance. Interior athletic renovations, including the gymnasium and locker room, will begin in the spring.

Seger Family Natatorium

The Board of Education voted to begin construction of the Seger Family Natatorium at Sycamore High School during their Jan. 4 meeting. The $10.4 million facility will include an 8-lane, all deep pool with seating capacity for over 400 spectators. Construction will begin in the spring and a grand opening scheduled for early 2024. Fundraising efforts continue to fill the gap that the Board has committed to move the project forward. Click here to make your donation today!

How Many Touchdowns Will The Bengals Score In the Playoffs?

Sycamore Schools is challenging Bengals fans to make a pledge for every touchdown the Cincinnati Bengals scores during the 2022-23 playoff run. For reference, the Bengals have 3.13 touchdowns per game and a total of 47 touchdowns this season. They scored 7 touchdowns during the 2021-22 playoff run.


How it works:

1. Pledge any amount per touchdown scored through the playoffs.

2 Cheer on the Bengals to victory while positively impacting the Aviator student-athlete experience.

3. Your payment amount will be finalized at the conclusion of the Bengals playoff run. Pledge Amount x Touchdowns Scored = Gift Amount (ex. $50 per touchdown X 7 touchdowns = $350) We will contact you via email at the end of the season with a Paypal link to make your pledged donation.


All gifts to this initiative will go to the Always An Aviator Capital Campaign general fund, supporting our student-athletes by creating better venues and facilities.

Climate and Culture Survey Coming

Positive school climates are essential for creating the environment, resources, and relationships necessary for children to thrive. Measuring school climate data enables schools to create safe, supportive, and accepting learning environments. As part of our Strategic Plan, Sycamore Community Schools has partnered with the Impact Group to conduct a climate and culture survey for the district.


We value the opinions of our students, staff, and families. Please look for links to these surveys in the next two weeks through email. The surveys will not collect personal information and will be anonymous. They will remain open for 14 days once posted. To learn more about our Strategic Plan, click here.

Aves Theatre Presents "Metamorphoses"

Aves Theatre Presents "Metamorphoses"

Called by Time the "theatre event of the year", Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses brings Ovid's tales to stunning visual life. Set in and around a large pool of water on stage, Metamorphoses juxtaposes the ancient and the contemporary in both language and image to reflect the variety and persistence of narrative in the face of inevitable change.

Performance Dates:

  • Jan. 27, 7:00pm
  • Jan. 28, 5:30pm and 8:00pm
  • Feb. 3, 7:00 pm
  • Feb. 4, 5:30pm and 8:00pm

Our production of Metamorphoses will be presented in an intimate performance space on the auditorium stage that will seat approximately 100 people per performance. Please purchase your tickets as soon as possible. The performance runtime will be 90 minutes with no intermission. Seats will not be pre-assigned, they will be filled in order of arrival. Lovis Foundation Hero Awards

Two Sycamore students were recognized by the 2022 Lovis Foundation Hero Awards, which honor students who go above and beyond to create a positive culture in their schools and communities.


Sycamore's Spencer Kohl was awarded for making a positive impact through mentoring. Sophomore Jocelyn Tanner was awarded the overcomer award for practicing kindness.

Distinguished Alumni

We are excited to announce this year's recipient of the Sycamore Distinguished Alumni award in the coming months. While the recipient has already been selected for 2023, we are always looking for potential nominees.
