Book Review by Patrick
I just read a book called Class Clown. The main characters are Cricket,Mrs. Hockaday and Lucas. Lucas is the class clown. He blames cricket for writing on his desk. Then he gets a note home saying that he is obstreperous. The things that he did were make fun of Cricket's new baby sisters name. He also brought a wagon when Mrs. Hockaday said’’1 or 2’’. Another reason is that he got his head stuck in a chair. On chapter five, Lucas bets Cricket that Lucas can’t talk for a whole day. He should of won because at the end he spoke, but you you could only speak out-side. So that is how Cricket won and Lucas lost. Lucas tried to prove to mrs. Hockaday that he could not be obstreperous,

Social Studies by Rebecca
This month our class has been working on the Government, Bill of Rights, The Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. One time we had to fill out a paper on the definitions for the vocabulary words: citizen – anyone born in this country or anyone passes the requirements for citizenship, federalism – the states share power with national government, right – a freedom that no one can take away, and a couple more words .
We also learned about the Three Branches of Government: the Legislative Branch, Executive Branch, and the Judicial Branch. One activity we did for this topic was that we had to cut and paste what the three branches of government can do. We all helped each other and had fun.
Another topic we did was the 13 Colonies: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. One thing we did to freshen our minds about the 13 Colonies was when we had to label the 13 Colonies on the map and color them. It was very fun, and many students helped each other.
So this month we learned about the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, the 13 Colonies, and the Three Branches of Government by completing worksheets, watching BrainPop videos, and reading Social Studies book pages. We learned about how the United States of America started!

Tech by Sophie
In tech we did popplet and chatter pix. First we did popplet with our science animals that we studied. When we did popplet we were able to make boxes. In those boxes we were able to put in animal pictures and facts about our animals. It took a long while to finish our popplets. Then we finished! We all finished at different times, but we all finished. When we did we started chatter pix, but we couldn’t start yet. Why you ask? Because we had to draw a picture for chatter pix. When you make the picture, you take a picture of the drawing. Then on chatter pix you get the picture of your animal. Then you make a mouth on your character. After that you record your voice. We did five facts about our animal. Then we had to export it and make a QR code.
And that’s all of the fun stuff we did in tech!!!

Ten Little Snakes
Ten little snakes were slivering down a vine
One slipped then there were nine.
Nine little snakes had fun when they ate
One had too much then there were eight.
Eight little snakes were named Kevin
One got too confused then there were seven.
Seven little snakes diapering trick
One went in the box then there were six.
Six little snakes went out to get chives
One was allergic then there were five.
Five little snakes started to snore
One did not then there were four.
Four little snakes played around an apple tree
One was hit by an apple then there were three.
Three little snakes played hide and seek at the zoo
One hid in the lion cage then there were two.
Two little snakes played in the sun
One got sun burn then there was one.
One little snake tried to play but it was no fun
She went to sleep then there were none.
In the poem we had to make it about something and there had to be ten of what you picked. You had to work on your own. What you picked had ten at first then something happens to them then there will be nine and that goes on and on until you have no more left. In each sentence there are two lines the first is for what all of thing(s) do and the last word has to rime with the number in the second line. On the second line it tells you what happened to one of the snakes in one of the three last words they are then there were. After that you do the next number of what you picked that is what you do in the second line of the sentence. If you do all that then you can make you your own poem just like mine.
Writing by Danny
One thing we were supposed to do for writing was we were supposed to disguise ourselves because we didn’t wants to get eaten because we were turkeys. For, example mine was a football player. And I can prove it was. Like I said I have cleats on. Also a football helmet on
Another thing we had to do was pick a thing to write about like I love Football. We had to talk about what is are favorite thing. I like football, so I had to write three reasons why I like football. So I could write football is an awesome sport. Then I would tell about how football is a great sport. Many people enjoy watching football.
One more thing we had did for writing was that we had to pick a object to write about like Mrs. Hall’s was parallel parking the car and Mrs. Hall’s parents were teaching her how to drive. Whenever Mrs. Hall would hit a curb Mrs. Hall’s parents would get mad at her.
Student Led Conferences by Alessia and Evan
To get ready for are student led conference. First we filled out a checklist with all the subjects. Then we wrote our power point just for our parents. Next we did are show me about math. After that we did our gems we had to fill lots of evidence we did thing we are good and proud of. Another thing is our star piece. Our star piece is something that we are really proud of. Then we had our personal goal we wrote what we wanted to work on and how our parents and teachers can help reach our goal. Then it was student led conference day. When you walked in, you walked right to the smart board and your parents will be there and you would show them your power point and that is our student led conferences.
Cedar Run by Madeline and Henry
When we went to Cedar Run we got to see an 8ft snake. Everyone got to touch her. Also there was a box turtle named Reggie we got to feel his shell. We also got to build a shelter out of sticks. Then we played a game that taught people cutting down the forest or polluting the oceans. Then we got to see all the animals like the Turkey Vulture, Blue jays, Red squirrels, and Red tailed hawk, and so much more. Then we ate lunch in the bus because it was too cold to eat lunch in the cold. In one of the games we pretended that we were animals and lived in habitats like the Pine lands or the Wet lands. And if a card says trees cut down then you would have to jump on a another one of your habitats hat your animal because the other one would go away. Or some cards would say telephone poll being built.n
Langauge arts by Patrick and Gianna
Our class just read a book called dear Mr. Winston. In this book it is about this girl goes to a library and looks at snakes in a book, to see if it would match her snake. Her snake was in a box, she lift the box up to see her snake. On page 234 the librarian passed out. She thinks that there is no dangerous snakes where she lives but she does not know that, that is why he is truly genuinely sorry about what she did to Mr. Winston. She was forced to say she was sorry but she did not want to because she blamed it on Mr. Winston and her parents for what happened.
Hour of code by Ava
This week we did the hour of code. Hour of code is where we use the IPads and play coding games like run Marco. In run Marco you use up, down, right or left and go up all wood or all tile or all stone and go up 1-9 spaces without using 9 up arrows. Another game is Daisy the Dino, Daisy the Dino is where you get a lot of controls and you can put as many as you want. The last game is code academy, is where you learn coding and all the ways you can do it like at the beginning it asks for your name and it shows you how to do it this is what I looked like var myName = “ “ ; print (“HELLO,”+ myName) ; then it does if (myName=== “candy” { print (“Welcome, Candy!”); } else {print (“your not” + “ Candy!”) ;. Now var answer =6 + ; print (“your answer is” + answer);. And now the last one is print (6 2);.
This helps us if we need it in school or in our jobs!
Science by Jimmy
For our science popplet we had to go on popplet.com and we had to do research on an animal. I was a White-tailed deer. We used our research packets then used them for our popplet. We had to pick 5 topics and I did habitats, behavior, defense and offense, adaptation, and endangered status. And our new unit is motion and design. We have to build a car out of connect pieces and try and make it go 100 cm. One got it to go 100 cm.
