First Grade News!
The 101st Day of School
First graders will be celebrating the 101st Day of School on Thursday, February 21. Along with our reading and math activities, we will have fun with the number 101. To celebrate, students may wear black and white that day just like Dalmations. There is no need to bring anything special to school.
I Love to Read Month!
February is I Love to Read Month! There will be many activities in school celebrating our love of reading along with Bingo for Books that you can attend as a family. During the month students will have DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read) one time a week. Students will spend 10 minutes reading a book of their choice. On our late start day Feb. 12 students have the opportunity to dress up like their favorite book character. All reading bookmarks turned in, in the month of February get put in a drawing for Scholastic book order gift certificates. Bingo for Books is Feb. 26 from 6:00-7:30. At Bingo for Books there will be Bingo, popcorn, a book walk, prize wheel, book exchange, make your own bookmarks, photo booth, guessing jar and more! Keep on reading!!
