Weekly Update for March 14 - March 18, 2022
Good Evening Brightwood Family, this is Principal Stokes!
Welcome to another great week of learning. Happy Sunday! We hope that everyone remembered to Spring Forward and set their clocks up one hour this morning! Our doors open at 7:00 am and tardy bell rings at 7:25 am. Please remember that everyone should be prepared to show their identification card when picking up a student early.
All Van and Day Care Rider parents were given a copy of updated policy and procedures last please remember that your signed copy was due last Monday.
This week our 3rd and 4th Grade students will be going on a field to the symphony. Permission slips were due last week. Monday March 14 is the last and final day to turn those slips in. Due to limited seating parents will not be able to attend. If you feel your child will not be handle to loud music and noise that will be produced with this field trip please contact me so that we can discuss an alternate plan.
We are asking and expecting all students to be on their best behavior. We are also asking students that are attending the field trip to dress semi-formal/ business casual on Wednesday. This would be mean our ladies would wear a nice dress, skirt and/or dress pants with a cute shirt if they have it. Our young fellas would wear a nice pair of slacks, khaki pants with a nice shirt and they can even wear a tie if they would like and if they have these items.
We know Thursday is St. Patrick’s Day and we know the traditions that happen behind that day. Parents we ask that you please have conversations with your child about the golden rule of keeping their hands to themselves and not pinch anyone, it is not allowed. We do want to see all our wonderful Tigers wearing green on Thursday to represent and celebrate the growth and abundance that they are going to experience the remainder of this school year as we Spring into Excellence. We have a lot of testing coming up before Spring Break and yes, we still have a lot teaching and learning that must occur.
Spring pictures and class pictures have been scheduled for March 28. More information will be coming home soon. Please mark the date on your calendar.
Please remember all students were given One Cards with the exceptions of those that just enrolled. All children are expected to wear his/her one card and lanyard. All bus riders need their One Cards to get on and off the bus. All students need their cards to sign in and out of school. This is how we identify students as being a Brightwood students it is for their protection.
As we know it was voted that students have an option for wearing their mask. If you child is coughing, sneezing and/or showing any cold/flu like symptoms we will ask them to put on mask as a layer of protections. As before if your child is displaying any symptom please keep them home and get them tested and/or seek medical guidance from your medical physician.
We greatly appreciate your support as we continuously work to provide an excellent education every day to each of our Brightwood Tiger this school year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us here at the school or send us a message on ClassDojo.
Thank you for all that you do and have a great evening. And Remember as always you are amazing!
Love Your Proud Principal
Ms. LaTrice Stokes
