Red Ribbon Week
What is Red Ribbon Week?
It is a way for the New Richmond Exempted Village Schools and the New Richmond Community to unite and take a visible stand against drugs.
The National Red Ribbon Week Campaign was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered a Drug Enforcement Agent by the name of Kiki Camarena in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG-FREE AMERICA.
Monday "Team UP against Drugs Day"-Wear your favorite team jersey to show your support to say NO to drugs, alcohol, negative peer pressure and violence.
Tuesday "Truth or DARE, I choose Crazy Hair"
Wednesday "PJ Day-Follow Your Dreams, Be Drug Free" Students were permitted to wear appropriate pajamas to school.
Thursday "Sock it to Drugs Day"-students chose to wear crazy or mismatched socks.
Friday "My Future is Bright, No Drugs or Bullies in Sight"-Students dressed up in their favorite college clothing or they could dress up as their future career.
