Counselor's Corner
Hello LVES Families! I am proud to announce that our school has been recognized as a “Kindness Certified School 2019” due to all of our students who participated in the Great Kindness Challenge! And a shout out goes to Mrs. Jackson’s Pre-K class who had the highest number of students who participated! I appreciate all Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Wolf did to encourage their little ones to perform acts of kindness! And Thank You all again for supporting this Project Vinátta/No Place for Hate activity!
The character trait we are learning about in February is Fairness. Fairness means practicing justice, equity, and equality, cooperating with one another, and recognizing the uniqueness and value of each other.
In our guidance lessons this month, students will be learning how teachers show fairness in the classroom, and that fairness does not always mean that everyone gets the same, but that everyone gets what they need. Students are also learning about how our country’s laws are established to show fairness and justice for all of our citizens.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”~Martin Luther King, Jr.
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
