Boots-N-Bling Success

Last Friday's Boots-N-Bling Daddy/Daughter dance was a blast! The weather didn't dampen the fun, and there was a lot of games and dancing throughout the evening. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey for being the DJs for the night, as well as the many volunteers who helped set up, serve food, run games and craft tables, and clean up at the end of the night.

Congratulations to the following teams and coaches for their outstanding performance at the District UIL Meet in January. We look forward to having even more students participate in next year's meet.

Character Trait of The Month...

February's Character Trait of The Month is Fairness. Here are few ways we can show Fairness...

  • Play by the rules;
  • Take turns and share;
  • Be open-minded and listen to others;
  • Don't take advantage of others;
  • Don't blame others carelessly;
  • Treat all people fairly.

Students will learn more about this month's character trait in weekly Guidance lessons.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families! I am proud to announce that our school has been recognized as a “Kindness Certified School 2019” due to all of our students who participated in the Great Kindness Challenge! And a shout out goes to Mrs. Jackson’s Pre-K class who had the highest number of students who participated! I appreciate all Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Wolf did to encourage their little ones to perform acts of kindness! And Thank You all again for supporting this Project Vinátta/No Place for Hate activity!

The character trait we are learning about in February is Fairness. Fairness means practicing justice, equity, and equality, cooperating with one another, and recognizing the uniqueness and value of each other.

In our guidance lessons this month, students will be learning how teachers show fairness in the classroom, and that fairness does not always mean that everyone gets the same, but that everyone gets what they need. Students are also learning about how our country’s laws are established to show fairness and justice for all of our citizens.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”~Martin Luther King, Jr.

~Martin Luther King, Jr.
