"Where A Great Beginning Lasts A Lifetime"
News and Notes-Friday, May 1st
ZEF made a visit this week to our campus. Jodi Burns and Kara Seever were lucky recipients of a grant for $5, 177.50 to purchase the Gold Leveled Literacy Intervention Kit by Fountas and Pinnell. This kit includes over 140 book sets for guided reading levels O-T. This kit is designed to be used with small groups of students who need intensive support to achieve grade level competency in reading and writing . Great job ladies!
Dan and I co-authored a grant for implementation of Genius Hour. We were humbly rewarded $8620.78 for our kids. This will be include resources to help support Genius Hour and technology in our Adventure Center. Such items include Maker Bot 3D printers, Padcaster iPAD filming sets, EV3 MIndstorm Lego Robotic kits, IPAD minis, Raspberry Pi kits w/Monitors, chromecasts, subscriptions to Mindcraft, and support for the vision!
The student grants continue to make a big splash. Administration, PTO and school leads continue to meet to see how close we can get to funding all 90.
Our Fourth grade concert was a big hit last night. It was another packed house and star performance! I truly loved the song from New Zealand!
Young Authors are popping up all over campus today due to our first grade culminating projects. Great work first grade!
