STALLION EXPRESS

Principal's Letter
"Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.” - Denis Waitley
While the holiday season is full of hustle and bustle, it is also the perfect time to slow down and reflect on the people around us that make life so great. Showing gratitude is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. It acts as a lens through which we view the world and helps us concentrate on all of our blessings, both big and small.
In anticipation of Thanksgiving, I wanted to take this time to thank YOU, our McGregor family and friends. Without your support, compassion, flexibility and grace we would not have been able to get through these past few weeks. A lot of sacrifices have been made by many people. I want to commend our staff, parents and students. No one likes the precautions. No one enjoys wearing masks or remaining six feet away from a hug. However, life is more enjoyable when we are all together. Fortunately enough, we have the opportunity to share precious moments with your children.
Please know that you make our lives and the lives of your children more bountiful everyday. We appreciate you!
Respectfully,
Principal, Rachael Novak, ED.S.
NOTE FROM NURSE GRAVER
Hello Stallions!
Face masks are not just for adults. To help limit the spread of COVID-19, children over the age of 2 should also wear masks when out in public.
Take the time to teach your child that along with frequent handwashing and physical distancing, wearing a face mask correctly and consistently not only protects our friends, it also shows respect, kindness, and caring.
Nurse Graver is actually very impressed by how responsible the students are being when wearing their masks. Every once in a while we need little reminders. I thought I would share this picture of my favorite dog Captain showing us how to properly wear our masks.
Keep wearing your masks….We can do this!!!
Be safe,
Nurse Graver
VETERANS DAY
Our 2020 McGregor School Veterans Day Observance
On Tuesday, November 10, McGregor students in Grades K-6 will be participating in a virtual assembly in honor of Veterans Day.
We are asking all students to dress in red, white, and blue to add to our celebration. At 10 AM, the students will be viewing a video collection of all of our traditional songs in their own classrooms. The collection also includes introductions to the songs by some of our fifth grade students, who volunteered to take on that special responsibility to explain the historical framework of each song. The fourth grade classes, under the direction of Ms. Urie, Mrs. Re, and Mrs. Ross prepared patriotic reader’s theater selections to add to our celebration.
Although we are unable to honor a specific veteran and highlight their story of service, the collection also contains videos recognizing all veterans and their service to our country. The link to our virtual assembly will be sent to parents as well, to share with those family and community members who have so faithfully attended this special assembly in the past.
We invite all to reach out to thank a veteran for their service!
