MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. PAULA SPOKANE, BUILDING SECRETARY AT CHAPMAN ELEMENTARY
Mrs. Paula Spokane, building secretary at Chapman Elementary School is in this week’s ‘Mustang Spotlight.’ Mrs. Spokane is in her 20th year working for our District. In addition to Chapman, she has also worked at Muraski Elementary, Center and Albion Middle Schools, and Strongsville High School. A graduate of Brooklyn High School, Mrs. Spokane has been a Strongsville resident for 20 years. Both her daughters are graduates of Strongsville High School.
In addition to her daily secretarial responsibilities, Mrs. Spokane also has created and oversees a student “News Crew,” which helps to keep Chapman informed about what is going on at their school. Students have the opportunity to produce a short news show, utilizing a green screen which gives them great creative flexibility. “I work with the students and help them gain experience producing a show for the entire school. Working with them, I really get to know their personalities and interests. I am so proud of them each day,” said Mrs. Spokane.
She added this about Chapman, “I love getting up every day and coming to a place I can call home. It makes me happy to think that I am able to go to work in a place that I enjoy. Chapman is truly a family to me. Everyone is always willing to help each other and we work well as a complete team, including teachers, staff, students, families and PTA. I also enjoy helping to plan social and fundraising events for our school.”
Thank you Mrs. Spokane for being part of a great team at Chapman! #WeAreStrongsville
