Thank You Learning Coaches!
That’s right—we’re celebrating Learning Coaches!
Here's to all that you do as a Learning Coach. Here's to staying motivated and working to keep your student on task. And here's to your continuous commitment to your student.
Our first annual Learning Coach Appreciation extravaganza is our way of thanking our Learning Coaches for everything they do for their families.
To help us celebrate, all students in grades K–12 are encouraged to create artwork, a poem, a song, or use any other imaginative means they'd like to thank their Learning Coach.
Don't be shy. Encourage your student to

Skills USA - Student Celebration
I had a wonderful time at SkillsUSA Regionals (even though most of the day I was really nervous) As you might think, preparing for Regionals was slightly difficult only because we are an online school and I was not able to meet in person with my teachers to demonstrate CPR/First Aid. So yes it was difficult, but even though it was challenging it was not impossible. I met once or twice with Mrs. Brauser and Mrs. Shackelford in a special Class Connect Session and they were able to answer any questions I had. (Mrs. Brauser answering questions concerning what to expect, technical standards of the competition, etc. Mrs. Shackelford sending me links to websites, and CPR/First Aid quizzes that would help me study.) We also conversed back and forth via email quite often. In the next couple of weeks in preparation for the state competition I w,ill be getting certified in CPR/First Aid at my local hospital and continuing to expand my knowledge in CPR/First Aid. I am very grateful for INDLS starting a SkillsUSA chapter here at our school and for Mrs. Brauser and Mrs. Shackelford helping and supporting me all the way to regionals. I strongly encourage other students to join SkillsUSA next year. It has been very beneficial to me and I am sure it would be just as beneficial to you as well!

Meet your Family Engagement Administrator - Ms. Louise Cowell
In my job, I love that I get to work with a group of people who are passionate about the students that they work with and they all want to see every one of our students succeed. I lead our FAST Team who helps to make sure that students are staying engaged with the school and the curriculum. We help to get students started in our online school, encourage students to attend class connects/complete work, help create a plan to get students back on track if they fall behind, track attendance for all students, meet with families to see what the barriers are to attending if there are issues.
My family keeps me pretty busy and I love spending time with them. My husband and I have six kids and six grandkids with one more grandchild on the way next month. Our youngest (and only one at home still) will be starting high school next year.

Bring on the Spring Colors with a DIY Stained Glass Window
Cut pieces of colored tissue paper into desired shapes and sizes. Next place a piece of wax paper on the table and put some liquid starch into a bowl. Simply paint the starch on the wax paper with a paint brush and then place the cut-up tissue paper in the desired areas. When finished, put more starch on top and let sit to dry. Once everything is dry, hang up in a window and let the light pour in!
