3. Make Course Home Page
The Course Home Page is associated with the Home link in Course Navigation and is the first page seen for each course. You can change your Course Home Page to reflect one of five layout options: the Recent Activity Dashboard, Pages Front Page, the Course Modules, the Assignment List, or the Syllabus.
I would suggest that you create a Pages Front Page!
Example of a Page front page:

4. Creating Modules
Modules are used to organize course content by weeks, units, or whatever organizational structure works for your course. With modules, you are essentially creating a one-directional linear flow of what you would like your students to do. Once you create modules, you can add content items, set prerequisites, and add requirements.
1. Select Your Course
2. Select Module from left menu
2. Click +Module (blue button) on the right
You can organize your course by units, chapters, weeks, focus areas, etc.

5. Adding FIles, Assignments and Discussions to Modules
Once you create your course modules, you can now organize your course content under each module. Teachers can add assignments, quizes, files, discussions, etc.

6. Import Content
You can copy course material from one course to another without merging (cross listing) your courses. Import content from another Canvas course when you want to use or repurpose previously created content including course settings, syllabus, assignments, modules, files, pages, and discussions. You can also import and adjust events and due dates
