Yamhill-Carlton Intermediate School

Hello YCIS Families--

It is so great to see so many students filling our classrooms and walking our hallways. Please know that we are currently exploring ways to have all students back four days a week.

Progress reports were mailed out this week. Remember this is a snapshot of where your students currently stand for this grading period. With just under seven weeks of school left there is ample time to make changes. Please reach out to your student's respective teacher for any clarifying questions.

Enclosed in the progress reports is information about state testing for this school year. This is going to be a scaled back version from what state testing has traditionally looked like in years past. Please review the state testing information to see what subject area will be required for your student's grade level. Even in a unique school year like this there is valuable information that can be taken away from these tests.

We have begun the forecasting process for our 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Students in 6th and 7th grade will be given a forecasting sheet to fill out in class and then students will be take this home for parents/guardians to look over and sign. Our 8th grade families had the opportunity to learn a bit about Yamhill-Carlton High School at the 8th grade transition night this past Wednesday. 8th grade forecasting will take place with the high school counselor on Monday 4/19 and Tuesday 4/20 in their language arts class.

Picture day took place on Monday and Tuesday this past week. All students in both A/B cohorts had the opportunity to have their school picture taken. Many of our CDL students made the time to come in as well. Pictures are expected to be delivered in May.

I hope everyone can get out and enjoy this taste of summer we are experiencing right now, it may be short lived.
