Dear ABS Families:

Good Afternoon, ABS Families!


Our administration and office team are working throughout the summer, eagerly preparing for the upcoming school year. Please see the following items.


Summer Books: All students entering grades 1-8 should have received summer reading books; if your child did not please stop by the office between 9 am and 2 pm, Monday through Thursday.


Uniform Items and Bazaar: If you have ABS uniform items that no longer serve your child, please bring them to the office within the next two weeks. The bazaar will be on Tuesday, July 25th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. All are welcome to come and "shop" in our cafeteria for free, gently used uniform items from our inventory. You may purchase items and see which items are used by each grade via Flynn O'Hara.

After-Care through Fitness, Fun, and Games: Registration for the after-care program at ABS, operated through Fitness, Fun, and Games, is open. View more information here.


Before-Care: Archbishop Borders School is excited to announce that we will offer a before-care program, from 6:30-7:30 am, each school day. View the flyer below for more information. Details regarding registration and payment are forthcoming.

¡Felices Verano!


Libros de verano: Todos los estudiantes que ingresan a los grados 1-8 deben haber recibido libros de lectura de verano; Si su hijo no lo hizo, pase por la oficina entre las 9 am y las 2 pm, de lunes a jueves.


Artículos de uniforme y bazar: Si tiene artículos de uniforme ABS que ya no sirven a su hijo, por favor llévelos a la oficina esta semana. El bazar será el martes, 25 de julio, de 10:00 am a 2:00 pm. Todos son bienvenidos a venir y “comprar” en nuestra cafetería de forma gratuita, artículos uniformes suavemente utilizados de nuestro inventario. Usted puede comprar artículos y ver qué artículos son utilizados por cada grado a través de Flynn O'Hara.

Parent - Teacher Organization (PTO)

ABS is officially re-branding our former HSA (Home and School Association) as the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)! We are hopeful that parents and family members will be willing to donate their time, organization, and efforts to enhance our ABS community through organizing events and fundraisers for school families, students, and the school. We are excited to announce Mrs. Elizabeth Funsch as our new president of the PTO. Please read about Ms. Funsch below. We are looking for additional family members/parents to take on leadership and volunteer roles and are excited that Mrs. Funsch will lead the PTO efforts this year!


¡ABS está oficialmente cambiando la marca de nuestra antigua HSA (Asociación de Hogar y Escuela) como la PTO (Organización de Padres y Maestros)! Tenemos la esperanza de que los padres y los miembros de la familia estarán dispuestos a donar su tiempo, organización y esfuerzos para mejorar nuestra comunidad ABS a través de la organización de eventos y recaudaciones de fondos para las familias de la escuela, los estudiantes y la escuela. Elizabeth Funsch is married to Oscar Hernandez, who is from Ecuador and who Elizabeth met while she was serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador. They have one son, Sasha, who will be in 1st grade this upcoming year. Elizabeth enjoys reading and baking. Elizabeth served as the "Parent Liaison" for her son's Kindergarten class last year. Elizabeth works full time doing performance data and analytics for local government in Anne Arundel County.
