THANK YOU!!!
Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who supported our Copperfield’s Book Fair last week. You not only supported our school, but you also supported a local book store. Win win! The money we earned went toward buying books for the classrooms and library, as well as providing funds to support our various PTA enterprises (think along the lines of ASE scholarships, supplying teachers with materials, and making sure our Library is flush with money for buying books).
None of this would have happened without Carli Merrill, who could probably run a Book Fair in her sleep at this point. Her organization and passion for doing a great job are much appreciated. I always know that when Carli takes something on it will get done … and done well. Thank you!
Lastly, thank you to all the volunteers who helped set up, served as cashiers, baked goodies for Dessert Night, and packed up everything in the end. This includes Donnie Frank, Julie Fourie, Kristine Nolan, Victoria Bracamontes, Brooke Lopaka, Tessa O'Conner, Shondra Eames, Millie Green, Judy Pasdach, Amy Andersen, Jessica Musallam, The Farkas Family, Leslie Buerger, Dorothy Fox, Jessica Valdez, Kristin Richman, Rachel McNeill, Rachel Carbone, Jennifer Hermann, Amy and Jon Lichy, Mike Frank, Sheila Garvey, Lucy Medeiros, Ms. Bussey, and any other bakers I may have missed.
WISH BENEFIT 2018
Welcome to Camp McNear!
Spend an evening under the stars and in front of the campfire with us. This year's Wish Benefit will take place on Saturday, April 21 from 5-10pm at The Block. This is an adults-only evening, so book your sitters!

What Is Campfire Chic?
This is a causal evening that is partially outdoors, so think comfortable, cozy clothing you would wear to a bonfire. Jeans, flannel, scarves, wool sweater, or jackets are all great options!
Donations
Thank you to those who have stopped in to the office and signed up to help secure donations! We are still in need of more auction items to help make this event a success. Remember, this could be goods, services, experiences, handmade items, etc. If soliciting for donations isn't your thing. an alternative is to purchase the item yourself and donate it to the event. A few items we are really looking for include hotel stays, vacation rentals, sporting or theater tickets, and personal services such spa, hair, nails, etc. For questions regarding donations, please contact Leslie Buerger at lesliebuerger@gmail.com.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Do you or a family member work for or own a company that doesn't provide a product or service that can be donated? Be a sponsor! Check out the sponsor page in the office binder. WHAT'S COMING UP
Spring Picture Day
This week order forms went home for Picture Day on Tuesday, March 27. If you’ve been waiting for class photos, this is your chance! Extra forms are available in the office.
Movie Night
Join other McNear families for a fun McNear event: Movie Night. Starting around 6:15pm on Friday, March 30, families are encouraged to bring blankets, grab some popcorn supplied by the PTA, and enjoy the movie. This is NOT a drop-off event; parents musts accompany their kids. If you also would be free to help, please contact Tiffany Robbe at tsrobbe@hotmail.com.
April PTA Meeting
The April meeting will be on Monday, April 2 at 6:30pm in the Library. Don’t miss this meeting! We will decide what the Wish Benefit Paddle Pledge will be. We have some awesome choices … so make sure your voice is heard! You can only vote if you’re present and a PTA member. Childcare will be provided.
Family Bicycling Workshop
McNear is hosting a Family Bicycling Workshop on Saturday April 7. This workshop is free, but families must pre-register online to be guaranteed a space. The Bike Coalition’s Safe Routes to School Program has developed these workshops (which have taken place all around the county) to teach families how to ride together safely and confidently; they include both skill/safety drills and an instructional ride and take place from 10am-12:30pm.
