Fox Family Focus

Week of November 7, 2021

Greetings Fox Families!

Greetings Fox Families! This is Anita Roane, your principal with this week’s announcements and reminders. In honor of all Veterans, please allow your student to wear some combination of red, white, and blue on Thursday, November 11th.

Thank you to our wonderful PTA for organizing our first outdoor family movie night. It couldn’t have been a success without our EpicMNES families. Thank you for coming out! We collected over $1,400 from Coins for Kindness to go Pony Partners. We are still counting cans but so far we have over 300. Thank you so much for your generous spirit of giving to families in need.

Our Girls on the Run Participants held their 5k practice run this past Wednesday! They are ready!! Our 5k race is on November 14th at St. Anne Belfield. Spectators need to arrive before 12:45 as that is when the roads will be shut down. The race starts at 1 PM. Come out and support our girls!

"As you may know, the Virginia Department of Health and the Blue Ridge Health District has released the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to be administered to children ages 5 to 11-years-old. Accordingly, our school division is partnering with the Blue Ridge Health District to host vaccine clinics on Saturday, November 13th, Wednesday, November 17th, and Tuesday, November 23rd.

If you are a parent and guardian who is interested in signing your 5 to 11-year-old child up for a vaccine, please visit our school website for complete details. We want to stress that getting the vaccine is VOLUNTARY and we encourage you to consult your child’s physician with any questions you may have."

Have you wondered how drones help scientists, archaeologists, police, & the military do their jobs? Then join us for our virtual event on Wednesday, November 17th for “BOT! The Secret World of Robots”. There will be two showings, at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Register for this free Zoom event, where you can learn about how robots impact our lives today and tomorrow. Hope to “see” you there!

Girls on the Run!

Fox Den Academy

Our Fox Den Academy started today! Mission Accomplished: Making Learning Fun! Measuring, counting, sorting, comparing, adding, following directions, reading, writing, determining more and/less, predicting, creating, sequencing, painting, cooking, and eating!

Third Grade Surgeons

Is there a doctor in the house? The third graders had to determine what procedure their patients needed by reading clues. The procedure was a type of "text feature". We enjoyed watching and listening to them prep for surgery and do their post-op procedures.
