School Advisory Council News
It is time to elect new parent members for our School Advisory Council beginning in the 2015-2016 school year.
There are 5 vacancies to be filled. Each position is a 2 year term.
The Advisory Council is a representative of the School Community, which includes members of St. Mary Parish and School. The purpose of the council is to assist, advise, and consult with the school administration in matters of school operation.
The Advisory Council has responsibility in the following areas:
- To advance the work of Catholic Education and the Catholic Faith.
- To maintain contact with the School Community and to represent the communities opinions and views, in matters of school policy, to the Principal.
- The Advisory Council shall determine community views and opinions by polling, canvassing and discussing the issues with members of the community.
- To aid the Administration in the development of the annual budget and tuition rates.
- To oversee fundraising, marketing and public relations projects of the school. (All fundraising events or programs by school sub-committees, i.e.: PTO, Auction & Boosters, must have approval by the school board prior to implementation)
- To promote involvement of the School Community in activities and programs which benefit the school.
The Advisory Council meets monthly. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Advisory Council, please submit your name and a short bio to the school office by Monday, April 13th. Once submissions are received, ballots will be sent out to elect the new members. Thank you for your consideration. Please contact Michelle Foster at m.d.foster@me.com or Cindy Majlinger at ctmx67@yahoo.com with any questions.

Reading Logs
Please remember to turn in reading logs for the March Reading Challenge each Friday in March so that we may keep track of the students' progress as we go. Sheets will be returned at the end of the day. Thank you!
Please CLEARLY mark either how many pages read (not a page range, but the total number of pages) OR the minutes read. Thank you!
Bring a new family to Open House and you could both win a tuition voucher for 2015-2016! Referring families do not need to be present to win, though all are welcome!

Why- To learn softball skills, which can easily overlap to volleyball skills, keep active, and prepare for summer softball. This is an opportunity for the 7th and 8th grade girls to see if this is a sport they like and want to be active. They do not have to have any experience at all to play. We are there to teach and have fun. I will be co-coaching (Toinette Broschay (Shelby Broschay’s Mom). We need a few more girls to make a full team so please consider it. There will never be practices on Sunday or Monday. During the week it is possible that Wed and/or Thurs pm will be practices. We are working so hard on this because we want the girls to continue to be active and Shelby is very excited that she may get a chance to play with her friends from St. Mary. If you have any questions/concerns please contact me at 734-693-2443 or doctortbsb@yahoo.com. If you can’t make the Sat practice, please let me know, so I know you are interested. Michelle Brinkmeier will be co-coaching with me.
