Roselawn Round Up
Weekly Newsletter for Roselawn Families December 14th, 2020
Greetings Roselawn Families;
This will be the last Roselawn Round-Up of the 2020 calendar year, and what a calendar year it has been. This last parent newsletter's focus is to thank the Roselawn community for the perseverance, compassion, and empathy that students, staff, and families have shown. The world is a busy place right now, but every day at Roselawn, our students and staff come prepared to learn and care about each other.
Throughout the school year, I have stated that the challenges that our students faced were unique. For the most part, these challenges have helped keep our students and staff in a face-to-face learning environment. The district has done an excellent job of data tracking, and I would like to share with you a snapshot of our current status:
As of Friday, December 11th at 10:30 AM.
Number of Students Quarantined: 15 (All result of a positive case in-home)
Number of Staff Quarantines: 2
Number of Confirmed, Active COVID Cases (Staff): 0
Number of Confirmed, Active COVID Cases (Students): 0
Number of Students Quarantined Due to Positive Case in School: 0
Number of Staff Quarantined Due to Positive Case in School: 0
These numbers have fluctuated up and down throughout the first half of the school year, but by staying true to our reopening plan we designed in August, we have maintained face to face learning.
Moving forward, we will still offer the virtual option for those families that choose that route. Mask wearing and social distancing with our cohort model will also be a priority. We will continue to focus on our academic, behavioral, and emotional systems we have in place to make Roselawn a place where all of us can continue to grow.
These final seven days will have our students continue to work hard academically, and then we look to have some celebrations on the 21st and 22nd of December.
We don't know what January will bring; we hope we can maintain what we started. Mr. Nelson and I thought it would be an appropriate time to thank all of you for your support.
All of us at Roselawn Elementary wish our Roselawn families Happy Holidays and excellent health.
Respectfully,
Scott Kowalski and Tyler Nelson
