Welcome to Chaeyeon's open house
Chaeyeon Lee Period 7 Mrs. Smith's class
Earthquake PBL
The project was all about building a safe house for Tony Stark with your team. We made a scatch, blueprint, building, and worked on teamwork. We made the house out of clays, popsicle sticks, straws, strings, and toothpicks. My design for Tony Stark was making a house with earthquake protection gears. This makes the house hard to break or be damaged. The main points I learned by completing this project was learning how to build a safe house. I also improved on my teamwork and leadership.
Driving Question: How can we, as structual engineers, construct a two story house in California for Tony Stark that will withstand seismic activity?
Answer: I can make a house with earthquake protection gears. My house would be stabled by using using strong materials.
30 Hands Project
I learned more about pollution and global warming. I learned about how we humans pollute the environment by using fossil fuels. I enjoyed using Pic Collage and decorating my pictures. It was fun recording and learning about global warming. I felt proud after finishing my project and looking at my work.
Invention Convention
Our invention solves air pollution. It sucks in dirty air while it is moving and filters it to clean air and release the clean air. The filter works with the same motor that moves the car. The car moves by solar power, so it is eco-friendly. It can also suck in a lot of dirty air, because it is near cars that burns fossil fuels.
Extra Credit Paragraph #4
My favorite unit is Unit 3 Earthquakes. I liked that we did a lot of drawings and making objects. I learned about safer houses, types of earthquakes, causes of earthquakes, and vocabulary about earthquakes. My favorite lab was when we used models to represent earthquakes. I also liked using globes to see the geography of the earthquakes.
