2019 Health Screenings
As required by Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations, 105 CMR 200.000, our school nurse, Cheryl Gay will be conducting hearing, stereopsis and vision screenings for all second and third grade students. Screenings for fourth grade students will include vision, height and weight. These screenings will take place in the health office from October 7 through 18. Every effort will be made to protect student privacy during the screening process. As always, you do have the right to “opt out” of the screenings. Please notify Nurse Gay in writing, (letter or email) by Friday, October 4th if you wish to opt out of a certain screening.
Given the previous changes to the height and weight measurements of 105 CMR 200.500, a letter informing you of your child’s body mass index will not be sent home. However, if your child does not meet the hearing and vision requirements, a letter requesting/suggesting further evaluation and follow up with your provider in these areas will be sent home. As always, data from your child’s screening results is entered by a nurse into your child’s confidential health record only.
If you have any questions, please contact nurse Cheryl F. Gay, BSN, RN,NCSN via phone 508-533-3265 or email chgay@medwayschools.org

Summer Reading Celebration Success!
On Friday, September 27th, we held our first whole-school assembly. The theme of the assembly was Celebrating Success. Students who completed reading logs had their names entered into a drawing. Several brave faculty and staff members volunteered to participate in a game of Drip Drip Drop, where selected students dripped and then Dropped a cup of water on the head of an unsuspecting faculty member.
Several things struck me during our celebration. I thought I’d share a few of them with you:
Classmates cheered for their friends.
There was a spirit of goodwill in the air.
Children were happy for their friends, laughed with their teachers and were inspired by others to keep reading and reaching for goals.
Student behavior was exemplary!
Everyone left for the weekend feeling good about themselves.
We recognize that summer reading does not happen without the support and encouragement of adults at home. Thanks to all who supported summer reading. We hope that reading becomes an important habit in your home during the school year. Please reach out to your child's teacher if your need support in developing healthy reading habits at home.

Family ACTION Required: Infinite Campus: New Student Information System
Family ACTION Required: Infinite Campus: New Student Information System
With appreciation to the Medway School Committee for their on-going support, the Medway Schools has spent the last several months transitioning to a new student information system, Infinite Campus. Our prior system, MMS/Visions, was no longer meeting our needs and we are very excited about the potential impact that this new system will have on our practices.
What Information Will Families Access in Infinite Campus?
All families, PK-12, will be utilizing Infinite Campus in the coming year. At the grade PK-4 levels, this tool will be accessed by families to ensure accuracy and updating of personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, and health information. For our grade 5-12 families, this tool will enable you to view student schedules, monitor student progress in their courses, view progress reports and report cards, and also update student information.
Setting Up Your Infinite Campus Account
In our August 15 communication, families were asked to set up their own Parent Portal accounts with the following instructions.
Families should have received an email communication from messenger@medwayma.mg.infinitecampus.org with an activation code to log into Infinite Campus
This code is unique to you and your address. Please do not share or pass this information onto anyone.
Please do not worry; you will not have to memorize this number. You will simply be granted access to the portal with this number.
Once accessed, you will be guided through the process of creating a username and password.
From there, the instructions will assist you in the process of verifying/updating contact information for your household. If you have any questions, please complete this FORM.
Additional directions and information can be found by clicking here.
Process for Reviewing and Updating Student Information in Infinite Campus
As families may have noticed, our typical paper forms were not sent home this year. Instead of the “beginning of year packet” which includes student enrollment, health, and demographic information, families are being asked to review all demographic information and submit requested changes via the Infinite Campus online registration portal. Families will be asked to complete the “Online Registration” option, listed under More to ensure we have the most current information for our students. If, for any reason, families are unable to access the Parent Portal, they are asked to please email us at parent@medwayschools.org for support or to request a hard copy of these forms. Requests for changes are reviewed internally and edits are approved or additional information will be requested.
Requests for address changes or custody agreements should still be brought into your child’s school office. A proof of residency will need to be provided to support an address change request. The proper court documents should be brought in to support any custody arrangements as well. If you have more than one child, you only need to visit one school to request the change.
