What's Happening...

Progress reports were distributed this morning during homeroom. You may also access this information through the Parent Portal. Congratulations to Garrett Maille and Kenny Russell on being accepted into this year's Northeastern District Senior Music Festival Band. The Senior District Band is comprised of the best high school student musicians in Massachusetts. Theater students had a great opening night performing The Drowsy Chaperone at the Old Town Hall last night and will be back on stage tonight for a second show. The newly established DECA team took part in the district competition with three students qualifying for the state competition in March, congratulations to the entire team. On Thursday, juniors and seniors met with recent THS grads to discuss their experiences with college so far. This event gives students the opportunity to ask questions about the college process from choosing the right school to what are the biggest differences from high school.

Open house is scheduled for January 24th from 6:30-8:00. Parents will be provided with their child's trimester 2 & 3 schedules that night.

School Counseling

Senior Parents/Guardians:

Make sure to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application if you have not already done so. This application can be found at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA is the most important application in the financial aid process. All colleges and universities will require the FAFSA before determining a financial aid award. Colleges may also require students to complete a CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE (profileonline.collegeboard.org) and/or a college specific financial aid application. It is important to be aware of each college's financial aid deadlines - missing deadlines could result in missing out on financial aid. For more information on the financial aid process please visit mefa.org.

Middlesex Community College will host FAFSA Day, a free community workshop to help students and families fill out the 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the federally required application for financial aid. The workshop will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, on the Lowell campus, 33 Kearney Square.

FAFSA Day at Middlesex offers different options for families seeking assistance, including computer support, to complete the FAFSA online, as well as one-on-one assistance from financial aid experts. To register please go to FAFSADay.org.
