Immunization Exclusion Day - February 17
Immunizations are required by state law for children and students in attendance at public and private schools, preschools, child care facilities and Head Start programs in Oregon. Nearly every facility that provides care for a child outside the home requires immunizations or a medical or non-medical exemption to remain enrolled.
Children who are not up-to-date on their immunizations by February 17, 2021 will be excluded from school until their immunizations are updated. During Comprehensive Distance Learning, that means students will be put on a list and will not be allowed on campus for any reason until they’re up-to-date (i.e. no Limited In-Person Instruction, no Hybrid, no athletics or no school events).
Keeping children up-to-date on immunizations will help schools transition safely and quickly to in-person learning when they’re able.
Students and families in the Beaverton School District may access immunizations at both the Beaverton School-Based Health Center and the Merlo School-Based Health Center in addition to their own health care providers

Elementary Grading & Reporting Update
This year’s elementary progress report looks a little different. This year, we’re suspending the practice of assigning proficiency to end-of-year learning targets. The progress report won’t show 1-4 proficiency marks. Instead, each section will indicate which targets have been taught during the semester, and another mark will reflect the student’s learning progress according to the evidence gathered during CDL. The Behavior, Language and Speaking & Listening sections won’t be assessed and will be grayed out.
The revised progress report is a reflection of how we continue to use our equity policy as a guide in our decision-making. And while we are pausing the traditional way in which we assess elementary students, we’ll return to proficiency-based grading at the elementary level when we move back into full in-person instruction.

CTE - Career Technical Education
CTE programs engage high school students in high-quality, rigorous and relevant classes, designed to help them turn their passions into paychecks and their dreams into careers. In this episode of "Grads Talking Shop," we explore the world of construction through the eyes of Bailey Aisea, alum of the Aloha CTE construction program.
BSD offers construction programs at Mountainside and Aloha. In addition, there's also a “magnet” CTE construction program that is available to students from the other comprehensive high schools that don't have their own construction program. It's housed at Merlo Station, and transportation is provided.
