Curriculum Night - Tonight!
Fall Open House will be virtual this year due to COVID safety concerns for staff and families. Our teachers are busy creating recorded introductions of themselves and their courses. All videos will be available on the teachers Canvas pages by Thursday, September 23, at 6 p.m. You should also receive an e-mail from each teacher with a link to the view the video. We hope you take the time to view each video and get to know your child’s teachers and hear important information about their classes. Please reach out to the teacher if you have trouble accessing or viewing their video.
Bell Schedule Change
Glacier Peak High School is going to add a third lunch (A,B,C) lunches in an effort to encourage smaller lunch sizes and social distancing. This impacts the bell schedule for the rest of the year. Click this link to view the new bell schedule starting Monday, September 27, 2021.
PSAT/NMSQT Exam
Glacier Peak will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at GP during the regular school day. The PSAT is a practice SAT and is designed for students in 11th grade, which is the year they can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. At this time 10th graders can be put on a waiting list and depending on available spots they will be able to sign up on October 1, 2021. Please call the bookkeeping office to be added to the list.
The cost is $20 and can be paid through the bookkeeping office Monday-Friday 7-3 p.m.
The deadline for ordering your test and reserving a space is Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Please click this link to pay online and reserve your spot.
You will receive a practice booklet about 1 week before the test. Athletic Events
Students must have their ASB card on their person for free entry to home athletic events. Make sure you either have the red ASB dot on your card or the sticker identifying you purchased an ASB card. If you purchased an ASB card and do not have the red dot or sticker, stop by the bookkeeping office and they can assist you – make sure you bring your ID card. For GP home events, we will accept a clear photo of your entire ASB card, for away events, you will want to make sure you have your actual ASB card to receive the discounted student price.

Band Mattress Fundraiser
Need a new mattress? GPHS Band Booster’s 6th Annual Mattress Fundraiser is here for you! Sunday, September 26th from 10am-5pm. We know a mattress fundraiser sounds a little crazy! A mattress showroom is set up right here at GP in the Commons. Anything you can get from a mattress store you can get here! 30 top-quality, name brand mattresses (Simmons, Beautyrest, Southerland, Intellibed and more) will be on display for people to try out just like at any other mattress store! All styles, all sizes, and pricing is 30 – 40% less than standard store pricing! All the services you’d get from a standard store are available too: full warranty, home delivery and haul-away are available options, and there’s financing for all credit types! We’ll also have adjustable bed frames, luxury pillows, protectors, sheets and frames. FFA - Veterinary Science Team
Does your future career involve working with animals – Come to an information meeting about the FFA Veterinary Science Team on Thursday, September 30 at 2:30. We will be talking about what the team studies for, what local animal opportunities we are involved in and how we can create a dynamic team for the year!
Theatre Club
Attention for all students with an interest in the Magic of our Spring Musical- “Cinderella!” We have a couple of dates for you to mark on your calendar! A general information meeting will be Tuesday, September 28 at 2:30 in the Choir room. Please attend to pick up important paperwork. Auditions for “Cinderella” will be Monday through Friday October 4-8, 2021. Please prepare a 30 second to 1 minute monologue and a song you’ll sing. Grizzly Cubs is a mentoring program between Glacier Peak High School students and students from the four elementary schools that feed into Glacier Peak High School: Cathcart Elementary, Little Cedars Elementary, Seattle Hills Elementary and Totem Falls Elementary. Seniors with a 3.6 GPA or higher that plan to attend WSU next school year you may be eligible for the Regents Scholar Award.
