Eagle Edition #17 - 2022-23
January 13, 2023
Happy Friday, Eagles!
Here are your important school updates for this week:
- NO SCHOOL MONDAY, 1-16-23
- Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There will be no school and all school buildings will be closed.
- SPECIAL OLYMPICS - POLAR PLUNGE
- During the week of January 24-27, we will be having a spirit week to support the Polar Plunge. Several of our school community members will be taking part in the icy Lake Fenton plunge to raise money for Special Olympics. We will be holding a spirit week with an encouraged donation of $1/day to donate to the Polar Plunge.
- January 24: Hat Day
- January 25: Wacky Wednesday (mismatched clothes)
- January 26: Bring the Heat (tropical wear)
- January 27: Dress like Mr. K day
- GBHS PINK OUT GAME - SUPPORT THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY
- On February 3, our GBHS basketball team is asking for our support in helping them raise money for breast cancer research with the American Cancer Society.
- Tshirts are available for sale here: https://shoot-for-a-cure.square.site/
- Students and staff are asked to wear PINK to support this opportunity on 2/3/23!
- ROLLHAVEN NIGHT - 1/19/23
- Join your Anderson & McGrath friends for a fun night of roller skating together!
- January 19 5:30-7:30 PM
- All students must be accompanied by an adult!
- A flyer is coming home with your student this week or next week with more details - it's also attached at the end of this newsletter.
- WINTER WEATHER/PLAYGROUND
- Please know that we will do our best to have students playing outside as the winter weather permits. Make sure your students are dressed warmly! If your student needs a coat, please let us know at Anderson/McGrath, as we can try to assist with this.
- We have noon hour supervisors out at recess every day. If your student ever needs assistance on the playground, please make sure they ask for help from any one of our many adults who are outside supervising recess.
- No students should be picking up snow or ice on the playground at any time. We have discussed this over the PA and on our morning Google Meet together, but it is an expectation for all of our Anderson & McGrath students - we want to keep our school community safe for everyone.
- MORNING DROP OFF
- If it's past 8:50 AM when you drop off your student, you need to walk in to your building office and sign in your student. Thank you for your help in keeping all of our students and staff safe!
- GRADE LEVEL/CLASSROOM INFO:
- Thank you to Mrs. Bell's class for hosting our school announcements this week! We are so proud of all of you. Next up: Mrs. Dunfield's class!
