Carver Road Middle School Is On the Move

Creating Compelling Digital Lessons: The Easy Way

Monday, Sep. 29th, 5pm

This is an online event.

As we exit the golden age of the textbook and increasingly begin to use digital content in our classrooms, it becomes essential for all teachers to have the ability to create and share their own digital lessons. For this webinar we will have Sergio Villegas, a high school science teacher who creates his own digital lessons. We will be discussing the tools he uses, why he uses digital lessons, and how you can integrate digital lessons into your own teaching. Don't miss out on the digital content creation tips and tricks to add to your teacher toolbox!

Chrome Extensions?

Chrome extensions are stand alone programs that extend or enhance the functionality of your Chrome browser.

Here are five popular extensions:

  1. Cite This for Me - Quickly create a formatted citation that can be saved or copied to the clipboard to use in a document.
  2. Extensity - Allows you to turn on or off Chrome extensions.
  3. Boomerang for Gmail - Allows you to schedule your emails.
  4. Pocket - Allows you to save articles, images, or webpages to read later. Saved items can be synched across several devices.
  5. Awesome New Tab Page - When you open a new tab in Chrome, this extension allows you to have a customizable page with dynamic widgets.

How do you add an extension in Chrome? You have to get to the Chrome Web Store. A quick way is to type in the address bar - www.chrome.google.com/webstore. In the upper left corner, do a seach for the extension you would like to add. Once you have found the one (or more) that you like, click the ADD/FREE button.

Happy Hunting for Extensions!
