  • In 1991, he was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Foundation.

  • He was inducted into the National Black Sports & Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2004.

    Ray Charles is known to have found the Foundation for the hearing impaired and is himself capable of riding a motorcycle, driving a car and flying a plane despite of being blind.
