Conscious Discipline School Team

I was so very fortunate to get to attend a new leadership training through Conscious Discipline, I learned a ton!! They confirmed what I knew to be true, but it was good to have someone say it...My job is to coach adults (staff/parents) back to their executive state.

I would like to build a Conscious Discipline School Team to help us build a stronger school family. If you are interested in serving, please email me!! I will schedule our fun time of planning for the support of our staff in building our resiliency and making this school family stronger!!

November 15th Proposed Changes to state plan will be open for comment

PLEASE take a bit of your time (mark it on your calendars to complete that week). This will be highly impacting to our programming options and services available to kids. This is a big deal and we need to let them know how we really feel about it and why!

We will send it your way as soon as it is published and ready for comment!!

What are we reading? (remember to send me your favorite reads/movies/blogs)

Please review your timesheet weekly

You should make a habit to check your time sheet Friday or Monday each week.

Please take a moment to look back on your time sheets and determine if you have adjusted your morning routine properly to be on time to work. We now report at 8:00 and I see many arriving after that time. Old habits (8:15) are hard to break, but make adjustments to your routine and your won't feel rushed each morning.

Game Night...November 9th, 2017 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Have you included this flyer in your newsletter, this is the week to make sure parents know all about it.

Also, please bring me a game or two that your students would love playing with their parents....can be made or store purchased....not sure how many will show up, so want to have lots of items to put out if we need them!!

LS R-7 seeking volunteers to assist with planning for future school facilities

DID YOU consider signing up for this team?? See info below, this is our chance to make sure our space issues are planned for!! If you think that this doesn't really pertain to you because you work in the GBEEC building, know that you could be the next one called to move to a new location!! Our students in other locations do not have proper restroom facilities or play equipment. They are often asked to leave their classrooms during map testing and to try to keep their kids quiet (we are loud). Our Elementary hosts are gracious and supportive, but the environment was built for 6-12 year olds!

The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District is seeking volunteers to help district officials update the Comprehensive Facility Master Plan. The CFMP team will plan for:

  • renovations at existing facilities

  • new school facilities

  • enrollment trends impacting our schools

Specifically, the goal of this team is to address the Board of Education’s priority number 2: Ensure equitable access to 21st century learning environments by engaging stakeholders in a process to update the district’s Comprehensive Facility Master Plan to meet the instructional and programming needs of all pre-K-12 students. If the number of volunteers for this team exceeds the number of team members allotted, Lee’s Summit R-7 staff members will determine a selection process that provides for a broad base of representation.

The group will begin meeting during the current school year, with the team’s work possibly continuing into future school years. Volunteers will spend a significant amount of time within team meetings and researching trends in educational facility design. The group will meet primarily in the evenings, however, there may be a need for occasional meetings during the regular work day. If the number of volunteers for this team exceeds the number of team members allotted, Lee’s Summit R-7 staff members will determine a selection process that provides for a broad base of representation.

To express interest in volunteering for this team, please visit this link. For more information, contact Dr. Judy Hedrick at 816.986.1009.

taff Absence: If you secure a Para sub through the District, please include the sub’s name in your email to the office.

  • Mail procedure instructions and mail supplies are in the File Room. Please remember to place KC Presort slip on mail and secure with a rubber band.

  • Please notify the office if a Title student is now eligible to receive Special Education services. Please place the Title cumulative file in the brown file.

  • Regarding time off requests, classified staff will still need to request the entire time off. If they request 4 hours and they return after 4 hours plus some, they will need to modify this time off request or work the extra time before the end of the week.
