FIRST
In 1st grade, classes participated in a variety of seasonal activities. Students learned about Christmas around the World which included Las Posadas, a festival celebrated in Mexico and some parts of the United States that is celebrated between December 16 and 24th. Happy Las Posadas to those who celebrate!
Students learned that people around the world celebrate holidays in many different ways and learning about the traditions of others helps us to understand more about our world.
Happy Holidays everyone! We can’t wait to see you back in the New Year! Here’s to a happy and healthy 2022!

Mrs. Saucedo’s class worked collaboratively to design and build a claw-like device to pick up snowballs. Students were only able to use straws, cardboard, string, glue, and tape to construct their device. They had the opportunity to test “the claw”, make improvements, and record how many cotton balls they were able to pick up in one minute.
Fifth Grade Team Wishes You Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!!!
SIXTH
In Mr. Koc’s class we have finished up the year with our puppet show. For the puppet show students collaborated with their group to create and perform a skit in Turkish. Here are some pictures that were taken last week.
We had a lot of fun this semester in Spanish class! We learned the ABC’s, numbers, days of the week, months of the year, food items, greetings and goodbyes, simple phrases and sentences, and short conversations. We also learned about the culture in the different Spanish Speaking countries and we compared and contrasted the Hispanic cultures and the different cultures of all our students. Students learned many vocabulary words and they also learned how to conjugate regular verbs in Spanish.
Students worked in many STEM projects and hands-on activities like making posters, sugar skulls, carnival masks, a “guess who?” games in Spanish, Piñatas, Puppets shows, etc. I will miss all my students from this semester!!!! Attached are some pics that I took throughout the semester. Happy and safe Holidays!!! Enjoy your break!!!! :)
