GROWTH MINDSET PARENT WORKSHOP
Learn how to foster a growth mindset in children.
Our workshop is coming soon!
Growth mindset is a term coined by Dr. Carol Dweck. She and her colleagues studied students' attitudes on failure and noticed how some students rebounded while others were devastated even by tiny mistakes. She uses the terms fixed mindset and growth mindset to describe people's belief in learning and intelligence. Dr. Dweck describes students with growth mindsets as follows. "When students believe they can get smarter, they understand that effort makes them stronger. Therefore they put in extra time and effort, and that leads to higher achievement."
Please come and take part in discussions about how to foster a growth mindset in your child(ren). We'll also specifically be looking at how having a growth mindset can affect students' abilities in math.
You will hear presentations of a cross-curricular/multi-grade learning and participate in an activity.
