Celebrating Being a Maker!
UELF will have the All School Maker/Halloween/Fall Celebrations Parade at 1pm. Students may wear the base of their costume to school, then at lunch they can add on their capes, put on their headgear and add on that splash of face paint for the 1pm parade. Class celebrations will be in the afternoon. This is a school appropriate celebration. The following costume items and subjects are not okay for school, use these costumes for the night fun:
- face mask - We need to see student faces.
- Blood, gore
- Weapons of any kind
IF your family does not celebrate Halloween, the morning part of the day will be focused on the classroom participating in learning that is connected to grade level standards. Teachers will incorporate Fall Holidays using maker mindset thinking for October and November.
El Dia de los Muertos
On November 1st - 3rd please come and observe the El Dia de Los Muertos table that will be on display near the Multiuse Room facing the playgraound. If you would like to participate in this cultural experience please bring photos, trinkets, small food items or mementos to place on the display to honor those that have passed. Please do not bring items that are valuable and cannot be replaced (make photocopies of pictures, etc...). Here is a link with a short video on the Latin American celebration: https://museumsc.org/2022-dia-de-los-muertos-day-of-the-dead/. The team will begin setting up the table after school on Oct. 31.
GREAT event for ALL Seawolves to join! Running Club runners, this is a place to check your stamina to run a 5K, which is 3.2 miles. UELF Girls on the Run Team, coaches, and running buddies will be there. Let's represent UELF with the biggest CRPUSD Running Team! See you there!
Safe Routes To School
Thank you Safe Routes to School-Sonoma for visiting with the UELF PTA Membership. It's great to hear all of the ways this program supports students learning how to navigate their environment through walking, biking, scootering and skateboarding. There's still time to do the October Challenge:
Join us on Nov. 2 for the next Walk & Roll To School Day.
UELF is looking for one more Noon Supervisors for our team!
Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:30am to 1:15pm. You will support students with transitions between lunch and recess.
Looking for a place to volunteer?
Classrooms teachers are looking for parents to be fingerprinted and registered for field trips, special events, and classroom jobs. Get yourself set up so you're ready to be there when your student needs you.
ALL volunteers must complete the CRPUSD Volunteer Registration Process, which includes fingerprinting. Please complete the application form and get yourself fingerprinted. This MUST be completed before you can volunteer. Once this is completed, you are clear for the duration of your child's school experience in CRPUSD, including high-school and middle school!
