Mr. Craig Benes, Superintendent, Itasca 10

It has been an honor to serve the Itasca School District for the last six years as Superintendent. I am thankful to continue that as the Board of Education recently renewed my contract. I look forward to leading and fulfilling critical new improvements for our students and families. The district will strive to return to a better normal while we begin a new stage of Curricular Renewal, Capital & Safety Improvements and Expanded Student Services. Before joining District 10, I served in the Chicago Public Schools for 16 years as a Teacher, Administrative Fellow, Assistant Principal, Principal and Area Chief of Schools. As a senior administrator, I supervised a network of approximately 30 schools. Prior to education, I worked in the social service sector for over 12 years with children and families. I have earned advanced degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy, Special Education-Teaching, Administration and Supervision and Educational Leadership-Superintendent. I enjoy running, swimming and triathlons. My wife Audrey, who is a kindergarten teacher with CPS and I also enjoy watching our three college aged children compete in cross country and track.

Mr. Brian Weintraub - Director of Operations & Certified School Business Official

I am proud to be starting my seventh year in Itasca District 10. As the Director of Operations and CSBO, I enjoy working to support the students, staff and the community. Prior to joining Itasca 10, I spent sixteen years in the financial services sector helping pension plan sponsors safeguard and grow the retirement investments of their participants. While I enjoyed my time in the financial services sector, being a member of the D10 community has allowed me to experience greater fulfillment in my work, and I truly enjoy being part of a team that constantly strives for greatness. I earned my bachelors degree in finance from West Chester University and my masters degree in school business management from Northern Illinois University. My wife and I are blessed with a four year old daughter and six year old son. They are my motivation for getting up every day and wanting to be the best version of myself.
