AP Classes: Our counselors have combined information from the College Board regarding AP classes/exams in one place.
SAT UPDATE: College Board has released updated information regarding SAT tests scheduled for June and plans for future testing. Please visit https://pages.collegeboard.org/sat-covid-19-updates to read the full press release.
PAL & Ready, Set, Teach: If you are going to be a junior or senior next year and you are interested in mentoring or teaching elementary or middle school students in MISD, you might be interested in taking PAL or Ready Set Teach. These are classes that require an application and interview. If you are interested in one of these classes, please fill out the class application and make sure that it is submitted by May 8th. Mrs. Almand will set up virtual interviews on May 11th with the students that have completed the application. Please email Mrs. Almand (sherry_almand@misd.gs) if you have any questions.
XC Parent & Athlete Meeting for 2020-2021: We will have our annual MHS XC Parent & Athlete meeting for all incoming freshman & returning runners on May 7, 2020 starting at 7pm. This will be our first virtual meeting due to COVID-19. If you have any further questions or if any parents have any questions please contact Coach Foster (joey_foster@misd.gs)

Physicals
Our Midlothian ISD physicals which were planned for Saturday, May 16th, are cancelled. More information will be coming soon concerning athletic paperwork for the 2020-21 school year.
Mentor's Care Podcast
The Mentors Care Podcast posted yesterday hosted by Dena Petty, Mentors Care founder and executive director. Development Coordinator Summer Backstrom co-hosts the podcast alongside Petty.
From College Board: College Board released a new testing date for Saturday, September 26, 2020. This date will be for the SAT only with no SAT Subject Tests™ available. Sunday testing for religious reasons will be on September 27. Registration for the 2020-21 SAT administrations will open the week of May 26.
June registrants will be able to transfer their seat to a 2020-21 administration.
All other students in the high school class of 2021 who don't have SAT scores will also have early access to register for the August, September, and October administrations. This includes students who had registered for March or May and had their registrations canceled and refunded.
Princeton Review
During this time, Princeton Review has provided students and families more than 60 videos addressing college admissions and test preparation for college entrance exams. The Princeton Review is a great resource as students begin to transition to college. The video topics include:

To continue providing at-home support for your student’s instructional needs, technology support or for other questions, please call the MISD parent support hotline at 469-300-4849. Our staff is available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. If the district is experiencing high call volume or its after hours, please leave a voicemail and your call will be answered as quickly as possible. For calls that occur after hours or on the weekend, calls will be returned the following business day.

Texas Trust is offering a paid internship for a Midlothian ISD Class of 2021 Senior!
Texas Trust will be hiring one student to serve as the Midlothian ISD Teller Intern for 2020-2021. Attached you will find the job description, flyer and electronic ad for the position.
All applications will only be accepted electronically through the link. The deadline to apply is April 15th. Deadline has been extended to April 30th. The internship will begin in July 2020 and end in June 2021. The selected student must be able to begin employment on July. Student Teller pay rate is $10.81/hour.

Join in when you can. Even if it is just for a few minutes. The hangouts are not only an opportunity to connect with your teachers and peers, it is also an excellent time to ask questions. When you need help or clarification about an assignment, join the hangout. That question will often help your peers as well.
