President's Message

Hi Sisters,

Did you know we went to Paris!?! The theme of our Dalton District meeting was Paris and our sisters did a FABULOUS job with the decorations. They reused prom decorations; which was a fantastic idea. I have been to lot's of district meetings over the years but I think this one wins my award for "best decorations".

Speaking of decorations I am getting together with some sisters tonight to work on the table decorations for the state conference. Each chapter was assigned a job and ours was to complete the table decorations for the transitional breakfast (I hope I have that title correct). Sandra Bailey, our incoming state president, had some cute ideas. I hope you are there in person to check out our handiwork. Did you know all the decorations can be purchased after the conference at an on-site boutique.

Be sure to read all the details below and check out the photos. Also, on my agenda this week, I am working with our nominating committee. With any luck we will have a stellar slate of officers to present at the next meeting.

Gilmer Historical Society - April Altruistic Focus

The Historical Society's efforts are dedicated to preserving and educating others about the rich history and heritage of our county. Gilmer County was the location of the historic lower towns of the Cherokee Nation of Georgia up until Indian removal in 1838.

In 2008 the Society was offered the historic Tabor Family Home in downtown Ellijay, Georgia. Built in 1870, the Tabor House is the oldest family home in the city of Ellijay.
