The Scholastic Book Fair is back ONLINE this Spring!

March 8th – March 19th

While the Fair will be exclusively held online this year, we still plan on making it a fun and joyous experience for our kids. Our customized Lake Country School homepage features:

Ø A fully Virtual Fair so you and your kids can experience the magic of the school shopping experience. Browse over 200 titles by grade, meet popular authors, and discover the comfort and joy of our Fair.

Ø Free shipping direct to your home is available on BOOK ONLY orders of $25 or more, after all discounts are applied. Orders containing products other than books are not eligible for this shipping promotion.

Ø eWallet will be available for teachers only. This will allow parents to show appreciation to our amazing teachers by donating funds directly to the teacher’s eWallet which can be used for classroom books. More details to come closer to event dates.

Ø The book fair is a great fundraising opportunity for the school. Every dollar you spend will benefit our school directly (25% back in rewards!)

Friday, March 5, is the deadline for a parent/guardian, teacher or other school district professional to request acceleration (grade skipping) in math by notifying Mrs. Schneider, the gifted and talented coordinator, in writing. Current kindergarten through sixth grade students, who are highly capable AND high performing students, are eligible to apply. Previously placed students do not need to reapply. Included with this written notification should be a rationale for why this is appropriate for the child. Once notification is received, a rigorous review process begins that incorporates data from student performance, standardized test results and teacher observation. Lake Country School’s math acceleration committee will review the data before the end of this school year for 2021-2022 math class placement. Parents who have questions regarding this process should contact their child’s math/classroom teacher(s) or Mrs. Schneider.

Lake Country School collected a total of 1,055 items sold 81 bracelets and raised $1,126 for the Food Pantry!!!!! 6th grade alone collected 373 items! Thank you for all of your support!!!!! Local families will be feeling the love from LCS:)

Remember you are still able to order a yearbook through Skyward Family Access if you did not already at during registration. The cut off for ordering is March 31st. We do have some pending orders online. If you added a yearbook to your order at registration but did not pay at that time don’t forget to go back in and do so. The number we submit for printing will be based off of paid orders. We do not get many extras so it is important to get your order in by the deadline.

To place an order:

Go to Fee Management, Add A Fee and select yearbook. You can then go ahead and pay online using RevTrak or send payment to the school office. Checks can be made out to Lake Country School for $12.50 per yearbook. You can also use this method to see if you have already ordered one. The books will be handed out at the end of the year.

We still have a few students who did not make either picture day. If you did not get your photo taken here and would like to be included with your homeroom picture, you are welcome to submit a photo from home and we will make sure Empire includes you in the yearbook. Photos can be sent to Lisa Acton,

NEW SCHOOL CHECK-IN SYSTEM (Driver's License will be needed)

Although we are still limiting the visitors in our building, we wanted to make you aware that we have begun using the new check-in system called Raptor. The Raptor system will require you to scan your driver’s license when checking into school. Every visitor is instantly screened against the registered sex offender databases in all 50 states. The Raptor system checks visitors against custom databases set by each district, which may contain custody alerts and/or banned visitors. The system will also be used for volunteer/chaperone background checks. Many of the local districts use this system and 32,000 schools nationwide use this system to protect their students and staff.
