8 Instructional Days Left in 3rd Quarter
As of Monday we will have 8 instructional days left in the 3rd quarter. Please be thoughtful in your communication with scholars and families as we approach the end of the quarter. Make sure to update PowerSchool regularly and to clarify to scholars your classroom procedures for late or make-up assignments. Also, map out your remaining formal and informal assignments so that you are in compliance with the CMS Middle School Grading Policies.
Spartan Small Group Support Starting This Week
Beginning this week our elective teachers will begin to pull identified small groups during Spartan time to support with math and reading remediation. Mr. Andrews met with the elective team last week to discuss instructional support that will be available for our elective teachers. This week elective teachers will pull small groups for math support and after spring break they will begin ELA support.
Science & Social Studies CIA's on Thursday & Friday
Our social studies and science departments will conduct our 3rd round of CIAs on Thursday & Friday of this week. Assessments will be conducted during regular class hours and we will be on our normal bell schedule during the assessments.
Spring Pictures on Tuesday 3/20
Spring pictures will be taken on Tuesday, March 20th. Pictures will be for scholars who have their money and who have their order packets completed.
Rising 6th Grade Student Registration Night 3/22/18 at 6:00pm
On Thursday, March 22 we will conduct our rising 6th grade student registration night. Our school counselors are planning an informative and exciting evening for our future Spartans and their parents. Scholars will learn more about our elective course offerings and will have an opportunity to begin the formal registration process.
New Team Member Begins on Thursay 3/22/18
On Thursday of this week we will receive the services of another tutor to support math and literacy instruction on our campus. Our new team member will support both 7th & 8th grade scholars.

Spring Sports Season Continues This Week!!
Baseball, soccer, and track games continue this week. Our baseball and soccer teams have home games versus MLK on Monday and then travel to Cochrane on Wednesday. Thursday our track team will travel to Waddell. Thank you to all of our teacher-leaders and coaches who continue the work of mentoring and molding our scholars after school.
